To All Media Outlets 9/19/2014 FASTRAK PR Corporate Office, Carnesville GA;
PRO Crate Engine Dirt Late Model Racing gets NEW LIFE!!
TO ALL WEEKLY TRACKS AND TEAMS, DON'T MAKE ANY DECISIONS UNTIL YOU SEE THIS.
FASTRAK to PROPOSE NEW FORMAT AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in 2015, along with new weekly and touring programs.
(CARNESVILLE, GEORGIA) - It's not too often something different comes along that makes a difference in an entire industry. That happened when the FASTRAK Racing Series began and FASTRAK is about to make that same impact once more. "I'm proud of starting crate engine late model racing" stated FASTRAKs Stan Lester. "It was pretty tough in the beginning with what seems like the old days (just 11 years ago) and lots of sanctioning bodies have come and gone since then, but FASTRAK is still here. The original crate late model series is still around contrary to many peoples beliefs. Now we believe we have a plan that will bring back life to this part of the industry and make it stronger than ever".
The staff at FASTRAK has worked tremendously hard all year in order to make things even better for short track dirt late model racing. A new format will be discussed with the teams at the upcoming 2014 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. "I have been thinking about this for years" said Lester.
"The goal at FASTRAK has always been to get money in more teams hands at the end of the year. We really have a stellar group of drivers and they deserve everything we can give back. There are some former members of the staff that are back in the office now and the 'think tank' has increased dramatically. This new proposal will be exciting for everyone and allows for more competition, additional larger races with FASTRAK's financial backing at weekly tracks and it also limits travel for teams wanting to go to larger "touring events".
"We feel like we have come up with a plan that everyone will love" said Jody Palmer of FASTRAK. "Tracks and teams alike will all receive benefits of this new program from FASTRAK. I truly think people are going to be elated when they see it. It helps the weekly tracks, helps the tracks with touring events and gives to more teams. That's the best of all worlds".
FASTRAK HAS ASKED ALL WEEKLY TRACKS SIMPLY TO NOT MAKE ANY DECISIONS UNTIL AFTER THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IS OVER. "We aren't trying to be greedy" stated Palmer. "We sure would hate to see a track make a commitment then all of a sudden wished they hadn't. If another sanctioning body is trying to get a track to make a commitment right away, its only because they have heard about the new plan. It is a tremendous plan and something the entire world of dirt racing is going to get excited about. There is nothing like this in the market".

1) Teams continuously ask for FASTRAK TECHNICAL HELP. This allows for that.
2) Teams have asked for professional teams to not be allowed. This plan allows for that while still including the professional teams from time to time.
3) Teams and tracks have asked for different structure on point funds allowing the little teams a real chance. This does that
4) Tracks have asked for financial help. This does that
5) Teams have asked for smaller area for touring events. This does that.
6) Tracks have asked about financial help for touring events. This does that.
With Virginia Motor Speedway signing a three year deal for the World Championship that has given us a unique opportunity to make some long range plans and options said Lester. We will have a drivers meeting at the World Championship on Friday at 2:00. I would suggest even if you are not currently a member of FASTRAK or you are not a FASTRAK weekly sanctioned track try your best to be there if at all possible. This is the most exciting concept for crate late model sanctioning since it started it in 2004".
Crate late model teams and tracks from across the United States are invited to attend this meeting and give their feedback regardless of affiliation.

And how do you determine who the professional teams are?

VMS doesn't get many fans or cars when they run, even when national touring level super late models are there. What makes you think crates are going to be different?

I think a fair place to draw the line is if you have won a 10k super late race or qualified for more than 5 crown jewel races .
