Pudnats are you kidding me. Who wins in crates ? Blair, Miley, King. The local weekly RUSH tracks DON'T PAY SHIT. Your return on your investment is a frigging joke. I don't care what you say. Crate late models cost more to race on a weekly bases. To win. Tires, motor maintenance, a good carb. can cost upwards of 1200. REAL CHEAP. and again the return at the end of the night will just put you farther in the hole.

I was thinking the same thing, jo73 must not get out much. Miley may have run the crates a 1/2 dozen times, mostly in the early part of the year.

Yea I wasn't sure about king this past season ! The bigger point I was making, and I did not clarify it, was that these racers have top equipment. There maintenance schedule is at the highest. Everyone I feel things that crate racing is a cost effective way to get into late models. It is not. Walt I agree with you on many subjects, but, one subject you have mentioned is that there are to many classes. What has the crate class done ? Yea, there's racers out there that have spent a lot of money only to find out they haven't spent enough. They keep spending only to find out there fighting a uphill struggle. The same is going to happen with the sportsman guy's. Time is going to be the judge of this crate debate. Whatever happened to a set of simple rules. The 358 in my opinion is the way to go. If your a diehard ford or mopar guy. Well, your just shit out of luck. In this day of smaller car counts, Somebody tell me. THIS IS GOOD FOR THE SPORT. No. But it must be good for someone's pockets and it's not the racer.

jo73.......Having never owned a race car, I have no first hand info on costs, so that is why I have been staying out of this ongoing debate!!! I was just pointing out that neither King or Miley ran enough crate engine races to be any factor in the overall picture for the crate engine Late Models. There is always someone with more money and better equipment in just about any class one wants to name, with maybe the exception of the Mini-stocks where most of the guys don't spend enough money for a decent paint job!!

Use a system that eliminates corruption and question, daily # first two #'s............ and disclose it!
This whole crate deal at the ville is affecting teams heavily.
