A trailer fire started around 10 p.m. Friday night at the Van Donsler campgrounds at the north end of Knoxville.
One trailer was destroyed and at least two others were damaged by the blaze. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished by firefighters. Several first responders, including Knoxville Fire and Rescue, the Marion County Sheriffs Office, the Knoxville Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol were on scene. Fire Chief Jim Mitchell says the fire began in the cab of the trailer that was destroyed, but further investigation may determine a cause.
One of the damaged trailers is owned by Danny Holtgraver. Holtgraver is scheduled to start on the pole of the D Main today.
