I remember watching him at Heidelberg as a kid,he was a pretty tough customer back in those days then went on to run the Speedway....RIP
from the obit:
Mr. Colella had a storied career in auto racing and is considered by many as an icon of regional racing and noteworthy on a national level. He eventually took over as track owner and promoter of Heidelberg Raceway while still driving. He was honored as a Dapper Dan "Sportsman of the Year," as well as being inducted into the Stock Car Racing Circle Track Hall of Fame, Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame for auto racing and Brentwood High School Hall of Fame.

I read That He ran heidleburgh and packed it in as he assumed the oil embargo would cause gas to go thru the roof and people would not keep coming ... But the assumption is that the offers started coming in and the land had become Too valuable in 1973.
