I think tracks owners are dumb and being handled when they let a traveling show or local weekly racing class built on sales of parts and services to racers use their track for less then $65 dollars added on to each special car entering the track.   A traveling show of the same without being able to guarantee additional front gate ticket sales equal to $100 a car needs charged $100 a car for the use of their track.  There should also be a minimum amount of income expected from allowing outside sales to display their wares.  If features start 20 cars and only 18 show up the sales organization needs to pay the difference of two cars.  Tracks provide a display venue for purveyors of racing hardware to racers and I think what I suggested is a fair price for local area "Quality Tracks provided to racers".

Tracks need to gather up a little backbone, quit being used and insure that if they provide a Feature venue for a seller of hardware they get compensated for the use of >THEIR< racing show.

I doubt tracks are now fairly being compensated and suspect the pitch to them for the use of their track is all about the money they can make off cars supplied through the back gate.  Something like, we will bring 40 cars to your track and you will have a gain because of it.  The tracks counter offer no matter how currently successful or not the track, should be that's great and we need $100 a car guaranteed for 40 cars for you to display your wares on our track.  Tracks are you being sold something for the use of your track and I suspect it's doing nothing to maintain or increase your front gate, be it weekly or traveling show.

All of the above is just conjecture by me and I have no knowledge of what deals and contracts are made between tracks and purveyors of racing goods to racers.  I hope I'm not even close and local tracks are making out great being a place for outside vendors to display their wares in feature racing.  After all I, the same as other front gate customers, pay my front gate money to see racing, not products advertised and sold to racers.

Also for me as a front gate customer the constant pitch to racers I have to endure in the stands about how they have been sold something good and it's benefits is totally annoying.

Please tracks instead of us non customers of racing parts, your front gate customers, having to endure the hype about sales and sales success, make the users of your track instead walk the pits touting their success to their customers not your customers.  Everything we hear and have to endure about products racers must use and have been sold is totally annoying and reason not to return through your front gate.

I can't wait for tomorrow to go see a show at my favorite local track Lernerville.  I can't get my money out fast enough paying my entry through your front gate Lernerville.  Please, Please, Please Lernerville don't make this FAN have to listen to each and every sales pitch about crates and yes I said crates.  When the class goes out I'll be there watching and enjoying the racing, I don't need nor want to hear any sales crap to racers over your PA system.  Lernerville, it's about the racers and the racing not parts sold to racers.

I agree 100%. It drives me nuts hearing Spade read his script of rush sales pitches every time there is a touring event. But I get it, i'm sure that's part of their pitch to companies like Billstein is how they'll market and plug the products, include the billstein shock program etc. I've just heard it 700 times.

As far as tracks go, I was talking to someone who used to run a track a little while back and he said he never really had any interest in booking local touring series due to the fact that it was usually a class that wasn't native to the track and he had to pay sanctioning fees to get the same cars he would've gotten regardless. So he put the sanction fee money through the field or at least half of it and allocates the additional fees elsewhere.

He didn't care if he only got 20 cars for a late model special because the quality was still there, the night wasn't held up on a B-mains, less heats. Same fans would likely show up for a 2,500 to win race as they would for a 2,000 to win tour race. Or the same racers would show up for a 2,000 to win $350 to start non sanctioned race as they would a your that pays the same up front but 300 to start. Only difference is if you go nomad, you don't necessarily have the luxury of a swing like this weekend for ulms and get guys like Boom hopping on for the weekend. You gotta hope those guys are drawn in but if not it's likely to be the same result fan wise either way.
