No idea what you are talking about since I wasn't there!!

I heard the Street Stocks had so much trouble getti n a lap in that that pulled them all in the infield and have them a time out while the supers ran. Then later stoped their race early. That is what I heard.

Now that is funny. All I heard is that Max Blair won both crates and lates. I think hes had a pretty good record lately.
Last Fri. at Tyler County 5th
Sat. at Tyler County 1st
Sun. at Eriez wins both lates and crates
Mon. Lucas show at Sharon 11th
Tues. at McKean County wins both lates and crates

Ok Max won at 2 tracks that he knows better than anyone else. And didnt move anywhere in the race at Sharon. I would love to see him run somewhere start in the back and move up and win. Then maybe I might be impressed. Until then you guys can have him at Eriez, Stateline, and Mckean.

Where were the rest of the local cars at Sharon? At least he showed up and finished just outside the top ten
Posted 04 July 2018 - 11:58 AM
Yea showed up there, but why wont he run the Firecracker. Oh yea thats right tires still not impressed Bc he started there.

I'm assuming locals stayed away on the forecast. I was surprised Max put Sharon back on his schedule tbh. He's been solid at his grounds. Top 10 at Stateline with the WoO, winning this past weekend against a solid field at Eriez. The first race at TY Co getting 5th with a full field and winning the second night with a still solid field.
Miley has been on a more region wide tear racing everywhwre and getting wins and solid finishes. Came from 12 to 2nd at TY Co, 2nd at Eriez, winning pittsburgh. Those two will always be compared because if their age, racing against each other, and being dominant in their domains. Norris can be compared to Max in the fact that they run very very well in their regions but don't do much else. Granted Norris at least goes to Florida and goes to Eldora. Yes max has gone to florida, charlotte etc but he runs the crate while the super sits at home and that'll always bug me but that's my opinion on the matter.

The local support of the Sharon race was very poor and Pittsburgh was even worse Saturday. All part of the overall decline of Late Model racing due to high cost??
Posted 04 July 2018 - 02:22 PM
And again you are proving my point. Yes he ran well at Stateline and Eriez Bc he knows the track better than anyone. Go somewhere else and run well and maybe Ill change my mind. Until then Max is a Cherry picker and always will be.

From what I heard, nobody did much at Sharon.....heard it was a train race.

I'm not trying to disprove you point, i agree with you. It's that this has been beat to death in the past 3 years and it's not going to change. He does well here and he stays here. Max had to opportunity to drive for someone and that ship has sailed. No sense in getting worked up over it.

I am not trying to get all worked up about it. It just gets on my nerves when people sit there and say he is great and all that. If he is all that then he should get out there and run some bigger shows.

Sorry I brought up Max Blair. I could care less if he won another race but I will say this. He doesn't know Stateline and Eriez better than anyone else. I've seen him have his ass handed to him lots of nights at those tracks. He doesn't have the money or equipment to be a cherry picker.
Chase Junghans showing up at Eriez and winning..........that might have been cherry picking.
Jonathan Davenport winning at Dog Hollow from the B main........that was cherry picking.
Max is a good driver in good equipment driving local tracks. I don't think he's cherry picking

This is one of those things we've covered in depth on here. I feel, and this is just my opinion, that if there was a $20,000 to win race at Sharon, Lernerville, port royal, or any of those tracks and on the same night there was a $2,000 to win at Dog Hollow or thunder mountain.... that's where you'd find max. It's his program to do what he wants but that is what gets his "haters" in a hissy. Blairs think it's just sour grapes but it's an annoyance amongst people who realize he's talented and Robbie knows how to set a car up, but he still tends to "cherry pick" in that sense and stay close to home, race "his tracks" or run where others aren't that particular night (which has been less so the past 2 seasons).
Again, they race and make a solid amount of money doing so plus it's not like TBR sets guys cars up for free. His equipment is more than good and Rob has more knowledge than one can imagine plus they have a direct line to rocket and get all the help chub and others didn't. He's traveled further this year than those past as ULMS has expanded and i'm still surprised he actually went to sharon and is signed up for the dirt million but i'm assuming he's banking on his fans getting him in the show. He's a low risk kind of guy, like it or not and many do not.

Might be more because of a lack of payout...
Posted 05 July 2018 - 06:55 AM
Purse wasn't the issue.... $400 to start at PPMS Ultimate NE, $1,000 to start at Sharon Lucas..

While all of you are entitled to your opinions, which are just that opinions....lets not misconstrue facts.
All this talk is just that...talk! You all have the right to analyze the business of racing how you choose but most of you are not and do not have access into the personal finances of any of these teams
And you most certainly do not have access into mine, TBR, RKR etc.
Let me explain this to you. Its simple, All racers want a paycheck. Not one racer goes to the track not wanting a return on his investment. Not one racer goes to the track not wanting to collect the checkers. It is no ones business how one driver or the other sets his/her goals or where they choose to race to collect that paycheck or if they choose to build a racing business by collecting pay for set-ups, body Work etc. for other racers. Call it cherry picking if you must, but if you had the opportunity to collect a higher percentage paycheck on the local racing level or lower percentage paycheck on the national level ( based on pre-race investment including costs & time) ....which one would you choose?
Ive seen and read what some of you assume goes on in our Personal backyard and amongst other Racing Teams Garages who have created an internal race business off of the track.
While I dont care what you assume we do or what other Teams do or what you think we spend or whom we pay for their services, Id like to enlighten you on your assumptions.
We are not a big budget team, I dont know how you define Big Budget?? Our cars are housed at home. Our cars are worked on and maintained at home. When we unload our car at the track it comes out of our simple Dodge Ram And Trailer. Our cars are set up weekly and scaled by the driver, Crew Chief and crew. Do we get help, have we paid for help and are we associated with a Team yes. That help is mainlyset up and buildhelp in the off season and in the event of bad racing luck during the season. With plenty of free advice and guidance throughout the season along with camaraderie and friendship. I just dont get how you can constantly criticize one particular or another Race Operation that chooses to charge others for their own labor and knowledge. They are not the only Race Team or Business operators that do this... their are Teams on the WoO Level, Lucas Level etc. that also run a racing business by charging for their services to other drivers. There are drivers on that level and every level who do and have cherry picked as you call it. Do any of you get up every weekday morning and go to work for free? Or would you go to work for free? I seriously doubt you would and youd probably laugh at the thought. Its also not your given right to say how any driver or team should put food on his table or pay his bills.
The personal attacks really do get out of hand and Id be remiss to say that I havent been bothered by them....its not going to affect how or where anyone is going to race and I seriously doubt it has or will affect any racers choices.
No matter how much you have to say, or what you assume, or what you think should happen, or where you thing a driver should race....you are simply not going to ever manage a drivers personal choices or finances, that is unless you are in the SEAT.
That being said, We all want you to enjoy Racing, Support your Favorite Drivers And Support your Local Tracks no matter who or where they are. Fill the Stands and Cheer! Just leave the personal attacks out of it.
