For Immediate Release

August 5, 2018 (Sandy Lake, PA) With Mother Nature being harsh to racing in May, the 2018 season opener scheduled at Thunder Mountain Speedway on May 4th for the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series was delayed.  The make-up event is finally upon us and will take place this Friday, August 10th marking the sixth event for Series in the 2018 season.  Thunder Mountain Speedway is located at 304 Ramsaytown Road, Brookville, PA.

Being a Series' point race, fans will not want to miss this event as the current point standing has 2017 Point Champion, Bobby Whitling and 2018 two-time Series’ feature winner, Andrew Gordon sharing the top spot.  Third place point sitter is Rob Shook who is just one point behind the leaders, followed by three-time Penn Ohio Point Champion Chris Schneider, while Chris McGuire rounds out the top five.  The span from 1st to 5th is just 19 points.

To kick off the Thunder Mountain event, drivers will run group qualifying laps to determine heat race starting order.  The main feature event will be a 25-lap race, paying $1,500 to-win, $200 to start.    Additionally, if over 35 pro stocks participate, a 15-lap B-Main race, paying $500 to-win will be added to the event schedule.

The Homak Penn Ohio Series will be charging a $35 registration fee for all drivers participating in the August 10th event.  All drivers will be eligible for the fastest qualifier prize presented by Jacob’s Towing, hard charger award presented by Bish Heating & Cooling, as well as a Hoosier tire donated by Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic/Precise Racing and an American Racer tire donated by Lias Tire.  2018 Homak Penn Ohio Series’ registered members will be eligible for additional contingency prizes donated by various Homak Penn Ohio sponsors including a wheel donated by SS Chassis & Supply, a case of racing oil donated by Les Frickshun, gift certificates donated by Genesis Shocks, Close Racing Products, ARBodies, Precise Racing Products, Big Daddy’s Speed Center, and Wedge Motorsports.

Drivers can still become members of the 2018 Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series at a cost of $200.  For more information on the Series contact Series Director, Shaun Hooks, at 724-730-1623, visit the website at www.pennohioprostocks.com, or email info@pennohioprostocks.com.  Like our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pennohioprostocks or follow us on twitter.
