Good to see him spank those guys. Anybody notice Shatz O for the early season so far ? Without Ricky Warner I'll say it early, shatz doesn't finish top 5 in points this year.

Im not up on who the sprint car crew chief elites are
But where is Ricky now ?

Not all that bold of a statement without Ricky Warner.  He still came from the B main twice and on up through the feature in the two Allstar races proceeding it with most WoO cars in the race.  In fact the two Allstar races had more cars then the WoO races at Volusia.  At Bubba the third night Tony was flat out fast but it was also a heavy track where everyone should have been fast.  I expected records to fall at Bubba on Friday but they didn't.

I'm looking for Brad Sweet to win it this year even though the Roth car has been fast out of the shoot.  I think Brad and Kasey ought to separate at the track, do their own things and then compare notes after the races.  There's a lot of great drivers in fantastic cars this year.  In my opinion Brads the best of the best feeling and using his car.  I only wish he'd quit worrying about beating racers and just do what he knows how to do.  Nobody's going to put you ahead of them or even equal to you in the pecking order if you can't preform just doing it.  Brad and many other racers don't need to beat anyone all they need to do is ... what they do best using their equipment, being patient when necessary and taking what's there when it is there and not imagined.

but this is about Tim Shaffer and Veges where he did show he was the cream of the crop that race.

DaveyLee, Ricky Warner is no longer traveling with the team. It was reported he is dealing with some form of cancer. He's back home in central pa. He will be doing R & D work from home.

Based on 3 races at 2 tracks:

Evidence that Schatz will finish outside of the top 5 in points this year:

1. There is none.

Evidence that Schatz will win his his 11th title in 2019:

1. He's the only driver 100% in top 5 finishes

2. He's one of four drivers 100% in top 10 finishes (one of the four is not going to be full time WoO).

3. Schatz, 8 points out of the lead, is incredibly consistent.  Pittman, leading Schatz by only 8 points after 3 races, despite winning 2 of the 3, is incredibly streaky and prone to go cold for a month at a time.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

Schatz took Pittman to school last night in Vegas..highside pass on the last turn..sounded like a pretty good race.

Timmy must have lost a tire or something in the feature,he got in from winning the B,was picking off spots then ended up next to last on the lead lap..slick dry desert track was killing tires.

My report from there was Schatz did NOT take Pittman to school.  They were about even through out the race when on the last lap Pittman successfully passed a lapper staying ahead of Schatz but then the cluster of cars because of Shaffer loosing a tire allowed Schatz to get around him for the win.  My report of the night before Shaffer was so fast compared to all the other cars that if it wasn't for yellows he would have lapped the field twice.  :)

... next?  :)

I'm sorry I shouldn't have directed posting what I was told directly at your post.  Poor internet courtesy on my part and I'll try to be more careful on how I post.  Too easy to offend posting.  Your post was very interesting to me putting a picture of the end of the race in my mind which I enjoyed seeing.  When I heard it a little different my picture got blurred with additional information and I posted my new thoughts on it.  I'll try to do better next time.

I'm still thinking Brad Sweet very likely will come out on top of the points this year.  We'll shortly find out how things further shake down during the Western tour when the 9 car is not with them.  I hope the "team owner" steps back from the pits during those races and spends any time at the track with fans .  In my opinion what will be missing from the Schatz team is someone who knows what to do.  It's the same with crew chiefs as it is with racers.  Crew chiefs who still need to experiment trying things instead of having understanding and knowing what needs done are like racers who need to still prove themselves beating individual racers instead of having the understanding of how to use their equipment and just doing it.  Yes the term "just do it" applies to all sports for both coaches/crew chiefs and players/drivers.

When Pittman caught the tail of the field going into one, Schatz was on his tail tank.  Pittman passed Kahne on the backstretch, then picked the bottom to pass Shaffer.  He didn't get by Shaffer, and there was another car on the bottom.  Schatz chose the top and drove by Pittman.  It didn't appear that Shaffer lost a tire, as he was able to hold off Pittman and he outran Schatz off the corner.

Thank you, not arguing with what follows just a question/comment.

If Shaffer was ahead of Shatz at the line then Shaffer was still in the race and would have been running for money more money in his pocket at the end of the race.  I would think Shatz out of courtesy if Shaffer was ahead of him at the line would not keep at full speed letting those who needed to finish their race for money in their pocket do so.  Would of holding onto one spot for Shaffer mean more payout for him?  A hundred bucks is a hundred bucks.

I've seen guys take the checkered and stay in it from turn 1 to coming around to the flagstaff just to make sure.

It also shows how hard it is that you can be fastest one night and getting lapped the next night and your really only going a little bit slower than the winner was
