Thanks for posting. Liked seeing those tracks when they where open and racing. But, so damn depressing to see them now. Enjoy what we have now,---------cause you never know.

Blanket Hill was an excellent track to go to back in the 60s!!  Sprint Cars and the old coupes, went there fairly often. Ran on Sunday nights. The track was built as a paved track in the early 1950s and then changed over to dirt.  I saw a race or two as a paved track back in my grade school days.  Harry Hein and Don Bailey may be the only living former drivers who raced there on pavement??  I have actual dates in a book if anyone wants such!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Walt

Sad video, for sure, and many more tracks could be added. Despite all the tracks that have closed, promoters still can't fill the stands on most nights. I was especially saddened to see a couple great karting tracks we competed on in the video- comes as no surprise, as most of today's kids are not interested, preferring video games instead.

I always wanted to do a walk around with a camera at the track end of my road..the former "Greater Pittsburgh" raceway.

its still all there, paved quarter mile with a figure 8 in the center..I'm sure there are a few besides me that remember when it ran.

sad though, trees growing up thru the cracks hiding the scars from forgotten battles. :(

Hey Walt, did you forget the Butler Fair grounds speedway?  I used to race there.  Also the Meadville Fair grounds speedway.  Also the old Pulaski Speedway
