LOLMDS Readies for Mid-Atlantic Doubleheader

WAYCROSS, GA (April 18, 2016) - The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will venture to the Mid-Atlantic this week.  The festivities will kick off on Friday, April 22nd, as the tour makes its first-ever visit to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH.  Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD will cap off the action-packed weekend on Saturday, April 23rd.

 

Sharon Speedway - one of the oldest, continuously running tracks in the country - recently took the green flag on their 87th anniversary season.  The Friday, April 22nd event, dubbed the Steel Valley 50, has become one of the most anticipated events of the season at the 3/8-mile oval.  The nation’s top dirt late model drivers will battle in a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event.  The Crate Late Models will also be in competition on Friday, April 22nd, high-lighted by a 30-lap, $2,000-to-win main event.  To purchase advanced tickets or find more information, visit: www.sharonspeedway.com or call (330) 772-5481.

 

Hagerstown Speedway, known as the “Capital of Dirt Racing”, will host the nation’s elite dirt late model teams, along with an always-stout group of regional drivers on Saturday, April 23rd, for the running of the 35th Annual Stanley Schetrompf Founders Day Classic.  The ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has seen an impressive streak of eight different winners in eight races at Hagerstown Speedway.  Jimmy Owens returns as the defending champion of the event.

Defending champion, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Georgia leads two-time champion, Scott Bloomquist in the current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series standings.  Jared Landers is third, followed by Darrell Lanigan.  Brandon Sheppard completes the top five in series standings.  Sixth through eleventh are: Dennis Erb Jr., Tim McCreadie, Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson Jr., Don O’Neal, and Steve Francis. Colton Flinner Tackles Lucas Oil Tour in 2016

WAYCROSS, GA (April 8, 2016) - The fans of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series can look forward to a brand new young driver tackling the grueling demands of the nation’s premier dirt late model national tour in 2016.

 

Colton Flinner will look to capitalize on his regional success in recent years as he chases the Lucas Oil Products Rookie of the Year - Presented by Hot Rod Processing in 2016.  The 21-year-old hails from Allison Park, PA and pilots the #75 Rocket Chassis-powered by a Pro Power Racing Engine.  Flinner receives sponsorship from: Randig Towing, Stan’s Transmission, Bellisario’s Lounge, A.W. Beattie Career Center, All-American Framers, Paradise Vending, and JR Hall Excavating.

 

On his decision to tackle the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and goals for this season, Flinner commented: “I decided to run for Rookie of the Year for a lot of reasons.  The TV package with the series offers great exposure for drivers and our sponsors.  I’m looking forward to lots of seat time at all the different venues across the country this year.  It’s truly a dream come true for me, to be able to race against the best drivers in the country all year on the Lucas Oil tour.  My goals for this year are:  to learn a lot this season, become more-and-more competitive each week on the tour, and to have a lot of fun, all while building my knowledge-base on what it’s going to take for me to get to the next level.”

Crown Jewel Cup - The ASi Racewear Crown Jewel Cup - Presented by DirtonDirt.com will award points to drivers at the thirteen (13) crown jewel events, within the series schedule, that pay $20,000 or more to the winner. The driver that maintains perfect attendance throughout the season and earns the most points, within these thirteen events, will receive a $10,000 bonus at the championship awards banquet. Drivers finishing second and third in the Crown Jewel Cup will also receive cash awards.

TV Race Challenge - Bad Boy Mowers and E3 Spark Plugs will continue their support of the TV Points Challenge in 2016.  The driver that accumulates the most points, within the twenty-three (23) televised events on the series schedule, will be crowned the TV Points Challenge Champion, which boasts a $10,000 cash award at the series year-end awards banquet.  Drivers that finish second and third in the TV Points Challenge will also receive a cash award at the year-end awards banquet.

Fast Time Award - Miller Welders has renewed their partnership with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and will remain the title sponsor of Miller Welders Time Trials.  $100 cash will be awarded to the overall fastest qualifier at each event; along with $500 cash at the championship awards banquet to the driver that earns the most Miller Welders Fast Time awards throughout the course of the season.

Hard Charger of the Year - The Optima Batteries Hard Charger of the Year will award $500 cash at the year-end awards banquet to the driver that earns the most Hard Charger of the Race awards throughout the season.

Crew Chief of the Year - Outerwears and Georgia Boot have partnered to recognize the hard working, behind the scenes individuals that keep their driver in the hunt for victory each week.  The Outerwears Crew Chief of the Year - Presented by Georgia Boot will award points to the Crew Chief of the Race at each event.  The crew chief that accumulates the most points will receive a sum of $1,250 at the championship awards banquet.

Rookie of the Year - Hot Rod Processing has expanded their partnership with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, becoming the presenting sponsor of the Rookie of the Year.  The Rookie of the Race will receive a $100 cash bonus at each event, courtesy of Hot Rod Processing.  The driver that earns the most rookie points throughout the season will receive $10,000 cash plus additional product certificates at the year-end awards banquet.  The driver finishing second in the Rookie of the Year chase receives a $2,500 cash award.

Most Top Five Finishes - Simpson Race Products will award $500 cash plus an additional product certificate at the championship awards banquet to the driver that earns the Most Top Five Finishes throughout the season.

Race for Gas / Road to Wheatland - The Sunoco Race Fuels Race for Gas competition will reward the drivers that utilize Sunoco Race Fuels.  The driver that earns the most Race for Gas points receives a $3,000 cash award at the year-end awards banquet.  The driver finishing second in the Race for Gas will receive a $1,000 cash award.  The Sunoco Road to Wheatland program awards a $2,500 bonus to the top ten drivers from the previous year’s point standings that maintains perfect attendance through the Show-Me 100 on May 28th.  In addition, if a Sunoco Race Fuels-sponsored driver wins the Show-Me 100 and maintains perfect attendance through the Road to Wheatland, that driver receives a $2,000 cash award at the year-end awards banquet.

Most Heat Race Wins - The Eibach Springs Most Heat Race Wins category will award $500 cash plus an additional product certificate at the championship awards banquet to the driver that earns the Most Heat Race Wins throughout the season.

Most Feature Wins - Wrisco Aluminum will award $1,000 cash at the year-end awards banquet to the driver that earns the Most Feature Wins in 2016.

Power Move of the Race - The all new, Allstar Performance Power Move of the Race awards a $100 product certificate to the driver that advances the most positions in the final 10-laps of the feature at each event.  The driver that earns the most Power Move of the Race awards throughout the season will receive $500 cash and a $500 product certificate at the championship awards banquet.

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Invades Atomic and Brownstown

WAYCROSS, GA (March 11, 2016) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will resume competition next week with a trip to Ohio and Indiana.  The series will converge on Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, OH on Friday, March 18th before heading to Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN on Saturday, March 19th.

A strong contingent of local and regional standouts are expected to battle the elite drivers of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the 2nd Annual Buckeye Spring 50.  In 2015, Jonathan Davenport led every lap of a fast and furious Buckeye Spring 50 to claim the victory over Josh Richards, Mason Zeigler, Chris Brown, and Jimmy Owens.  The Friday, March 18th event at Atomic Speedway will feature a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event.  The Open Wheel Modifieds will compete for $1,500-to-win.  For tickets and more information, visit:

DirtonDirt.com Continues Extensive Partnership with Lucas Oil Late Models
