#454167 Bob Felmlee Wins FAST Sprints Tonight at Mercer: 9-16-23

Posted by Hot Dog on 17 September 2023 - 10:58 AM

9 DNF's in the 410 feature. Is the surface still filled with shale that is slicing tires?

No its been pretty great. You could see Flicks tire going down for several laps, not sure if he got into someone to cut it or ran something over. Everyone has been pretty complimentary of the surface. I think most of the rest pulled off because they werent going anywhere or were dangerously slow lapped traffic

Can you please the outsiders coming?

Seems like a task for their significant others. Thats a lot to ask of Flash

Take the Bull by the horns and show us then. Youre clearly thinking on a different level than the rest of us. Put that galaxy brain to use

Ok so why are the 4 bangers getting track time is my question ?

Its no more than theyve had the last 2 years. They were on with the stand alone bi weekly rush shows 2 years ago and they had 5 or 6 shows last year

#450659 Might be the logic for PPMS putting a 410 show against Mercer?

Posted by Hot Dog on 21 August 2021 - 09:16 PM

Mercer had people complaining that Latrobe was scheduling Big Block Mods over to of them and then a day or two later announced their "pop-up" sprint show.

Neither one is a good thing. Its all silly and why I prefer to travel these days. The promoters in this area just dont get it.

I still don't understand how it was ok for McFadden to stay home to wait on his baby, but not something as simple as this.  Sounds about right for the Outlaws.  Exactly why they have half the teams following the tour, and a 1/4 of the good drivers.  Lucas is killing them.

Bill Rose is 14th in sprint points and hasnt run a race but this guy cant miss one race. Sometimes policies need a little flexibility

I went last year for the Ralph Quarterson Memorial. Sat in turn one in extremely dusty conditions and didn't get a speck of dust on my person. However, I could barely see the cars going in to turn three or exiting turn four. Did it rain up there before race time? Hard to believe it got dusty if it rained up there like it did here at home.

Never rained until the last features were being run

Have to give a shout out to Ken Rossey.. He also ran really strong at Thunder Mountain last week.

Hes definitely finding speed. He still makes me nervous but hes improving for sure.

#450284 Don Martin Memorial

All Star guys arent running because they have 7 races in 10 days starting Friday, and right after that roll right into Knoxville for a few weeks, so theyre doing prep and making sure all of their ducks are in a row for that. Central PA teams have a $5k to win show at Selinsgrove, why travel on a Tuesday when you can do that? Not to mention fuel prices dont really encourage much travel. Between fuel and turnpike fees, its gonna cost $500 for them before the car ever touches the track. Ohio teams dont really travel much these days

What do you mean double book?

There arent enough to go around between 2 tracks in the area

#449428 ASCoC Sprint Cars Tonight at Tri-City Raceway Park: 5-2-21

Posted by Hot Dog on 03 May 2021 - 07:26 AM

Track was junk. Pathetic excuse for track prep

Normally Id argue with you and try to counterpoint but Ive got nothing. That was awful. They had a huge opportunity to make a big impression in front of a huge crowd in attendance and being one of the only things streaming last night, and they couldnt have blown it any worse. Just from top to bottom it was an awful ass backwards effort.

#449376 Sprint cars 6k to win

Posted by Hot Dog on 30 April 2021 - 07:35 AM

So Ill throw you a bone. How much do you think admission to an event like this should be? How are you covering the rest of the expenses? A purse like you laid out would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $200k. Are you gonna be able to draw 20,000 people to make this profitable? Tri City tried something similar last year and ate shit big time. There may have been 500 people there and nary a full field in any division to cover on the back gate. Its not as simple as pay a bunch of money and the people will come in droves

STEELCITY OUTLAW@38 CARS....HAMMERDOWN!!!!!!!

Id doubt Tim will be around this weekend. ASCS is at the Grove and Selinsgrove on top of the 410 shows out there this weekend. Too much money to be made.

I was incorrect, Shaffer is supposed to be there tonight
