Right, it's unworkable. But, every new owner/promoter thinks they can build a better mouse trap. I just hope they don't lose their ass in the process.

So we bitch and complain when a track shuts down and now we also complain when someone wants to invest a considerable amount of money in our sport to try their best and put on a good show for us. I'm sorry but I don't get it. What's wrong if someone wants to buy, open, and promote a track???

Seems like they only plan to run 8-10 special type shows.

It's a discussion, not bitching. Anyone that's ever been around local racing for any amount of time knows that building a new track or opening a closed one is risky as hell, riskier that a lot of other businesses. I think wondering where these additional tracks are going to get cars is a legit concern.

Have to agree with skull. Fields have dwindled, quality fields are even rarer today. Reopening of tracks only thin those fields. The only division that seemingly has florished over the years is sub compact or 4 cylinders. Offer that class a decent purse and they come from far and wide locations.

I agree. You pay $500 or more and you get a full field of those Bang Bangers.

With Dog Hollow and McKean County opening back up is that they have promoters that also operate racing related businesses. I think that they might find some loyalty in their customers to come race at their track. These guys are probably communicating with racers more than other promoters.

I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to the last season they ran weekly.

Sounds great.  I missed that place.  Specials only, would be fine. Go to camp them weekends, for sure. Never missed a Fall Classic.

Joel Smith should be quite capable of promoting. He was crew chief on the car of the great Todd Andrews back in the day. Todd won The Pittsburgher and The Hillbilly Hundred back when they were considered crown jewel races. Joel has watched the operation of many a track across the U.S.
