Yea Skip, it has been there for a while and it really bunches my tighty-whitey's every time I go to the site. They've all but cut the stock cars out of the schedule. All they have is one race so far and that's May 18th on Sunday. They said stocvks would be included somehow in the TBA at the end of the season. I'm not a happy camper. Lots of folks feel the same, believe me!!check out the announcement on wmp home page

REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easiest way to show Greg & Tami that the stock cars want to race at WMSP is to show up with a large car count
on May 18th and be sure to spread the word so we get plenty of fans into the stands.

That is absolutely the correct way to handle the situation! It's going to take a group effort to show what classes of cars are able to turn a profit, on a consistent basis. That's what it's all about..... giving the fans and racers the most bang for your buck! I'm busting butt to make that apparent!

I think the stocks were discouraged last year when only 7 races were on the schedule. The three years before that, the stocks were growing just like the other classes. The stock cars were treated just like all the other classes, but when the new schedule came out with no stock races, it made the stock drivers wonder why.
I'll be there opening day supporting WAYNESFIELDMOTORSPORTSPARK.

Exactly!!!! You couldn't have said it any better. See what we are trying to tell you Greg and Tammy, and Cast Iron Junkie? Thank you Stiff for clarifying that!!! Dr. Speedy. We really would like to see some stocks before the 18 th of May!!It shouldn't take a large turn out on that Sunday in May to get a point across. The stock car class helped get the track where it is today and last year they got a bad deal and this year they got S*** on. I can tell you that at the Race Expo in Piqua last weekend we handed out schedules for Waynesfield and there is not alot of good coming from the fans or the drivers that we spoke with. The fans want to see the Stock Cars on Sat. NOT Sunday night and many of the drivers from the Stock Car class feel if this is how they are going to be treated after helping make the track into something good they refuse to go at all this year. I know some won't like this comment but everyone that we talked to said put the trucks on Sunday night and the Stock Cars on Sat. night and both will be happy, there will be a full field of good raing on Sat. and the trucks will have a place to run on Sunday. Being in the pits with our car I don't watch the races except ours and we spend the rest of the time st the trailer working on the car but they tell me if you watch the stands when the trucks hit the track they empty out quickly but they stay and watch the Stock Cars. The last part of this post is just sharing what we heard from those that fill the stands.

How many stocks would run there on a weekly basis if they had them...or would they only run there if Eldora wasn't racing?
If you guys ran stock cars On Saturday? You definitly would have Our car there every Stock car race. We Don't want to Run Eldora (or Sundays). So it wouldn't of mattered if Eldora was running or not. We would be at Waynesfield.
I think you would have a good turn out of stocks this year. I've talked to a few stock boys and they don't wanna travel to Eldora due to gas prices.

I feel for all the stock car guyas as well,I use to race stocks,I also ran a truck last year and i beg to differ with the comment left about the stands emptying when the trucks ran. There were a couple of nights when we broke and didn't make the feature, and the stands stayed just as full for the trucks,as they did for the stocks. If I was to grade both divisions on the quality of racing,I seen a lot better and closer racing week in and week out with the trucks, and at alot less cost. The division of stock cars out there now are not stock anything, when you have guys with 3 link heim adjustable suspensions and 20,000 dollar motors that crazy. I am NOT SAYING the stocks don't put on a good show cause they do,but please don't move the truck to sunday cause you think just cause they don't have $40,000 in a race car that there not worthy of saturday night racing. Just 1 racer's opinion. I have been on both sides of the fence.
All I will say is everyone in every division better get used to idea of running on Sunday(in the near furture). Points funds, heat win money, lap lead money, contingencies. special nights for every division. Banquet, the whole deal! It's about to get good. Please have a little faith. I've worked for 7 weeks now and won't get one thin dime until opening night. I'm doing everything I can do to make it better than the current situation. NOT ONE SINGLE DIVISION WILL BE DROPPED OR LEFT OUT! That's straight from the top.
