So, Cast Iron Junkie,
When is this big announcement coming about the Stock Cars????More Dates????

Sorry Guys... and Gals! It's taking longer than anyone thought it would. I'm not at liberty to disclose this informantion, but if you are "in the know" you'll know what I'm talking about! Each of the Sunday dates I originally proposed has the thunder stocks on the card. May 18, June 15, July 20, August 10 and I'll get the other two dates when I go up to the office.

Soon as Greg gives me the OK, I'll post ASAP!

That's all I've got for now.

Dr. Speedy starting to sound like this big announcement idea was to keep the stock car guys with some hope but with the season due to kick off, I'm begin to wonder if there is a big announcement. You would think if it was a top secret big announcement that the higher ups would have OK'd it by now. Maybe they shouldn't have posted that an announcement would be coming in TEN DAYS or was that MONTHS?

With all the attention this Stock Car topic is getting. When they do run Stocks and i hope they do there should be a great car count that will lead to some great racing. Please be patient i know season is started but a lot of people don't know what happened with WMSP through last year and the beginning of this year.

What's confusing? Read the posts, and read the web site..... everything you see on that schedule is a GO. Please remember it says "SUBJECT TO CHANGE"

There's no secret, but the details of the "Big Announcement" are NOT FINALIZED yet..... Hence "nothing yet"!

There, that wasn't so confusing now was it? I've posted my phone number on every release, so don't sit back, speculate, bad mouth, insinuate, or bash. Call me. I'll do my best to help you with each and every concern.

Come on folks... give Mr. Cornes a chance here. I, for one, wouldn't want to walk a mile in his or ANY promoter's shoes. Verbals commitments from sponsors who later back out... Track owners promising their promoters one thing then doing something else... drivers saying they'll be there and then not showing up... being blamed for track conditions caused by weather and late programs caused by cautions.... I'm sure it never ends. So, let's give Mr. Cornes a chance here.

The place is a decent facilty at best. The track is the best it has been since it was open. Thanks to Cub. Cast Iron junkie. You are doing a nice job trying to promote your race you are having there. Do you really think that you are trying to help the stock car class by giving them one race. Most of the drivers are pissed off since they cannot race all season. So I highly doubt that you are going to get any cars. Your races are on Sunday (I know this is the best you can do and that you are trying hard to get this done). This is hard for fans and drivers to make it out on a Sunday night. For the mods I cannot belive that they waited on Eldora's schedule to have the mods run. They only get a couple of cars from there anyway. I know a fewcar owners that are really bumed that they pulled this deal. I love to watch the spints there, but they cut the purse on them, so the car counts will be down. You really do not think that the boys form Indiana will travel over here to run for chump change do you! Waynesfield got rid of the compacts, Why?? Because everybody hated them, Same with the trucks. I have seen posts on here were the drivers defend there class. I understand there point. It is a lot less expensive to run. As a fan in the stands I HATE THEM they are slow and boring. There has never been a time were they are even a little exciting to watch. I usally get up and go get a hotdog when they get on the track. Oh and the mini sprints they are OK to watch I am lookng forward to seeing the 1000C class coming this year. I do not unerstand all that goes into promoting a track nor do I want to, but I do know that a track cannot survive with out people in the stands. It sounds like a lot of problems with all the hush hush going on. I was told that It will be under new management next year anyway. With Create latemodels. What a waste if this is true. I say leave it the way it was last year. Sprints, Mods, Stocks, Minis, and yes the trucks as well. 5 classes of races is well worth the price of admission. I wish you luck, but I think until things change I am going to go to a few other tracks and give them my money. At least they take into condsideration of what there fans want. Hey Bob try to stay in stand and watch some truck races. I know there not as fast as other classses but they do put on good sidebyside racing alot of times. And they do bring a good count of trucks week after week.

I have!!! many of nights. I dont agree with you. To me it is no differnt than the compacts were. I want to see cars backing it in the corners, not cars that look like they are driving on asphalt. I know a few of the drivers that race these trucks and respect the time, money and effort they put in them. I just dont like to watch them.
Not everybody will agree with me and I don't expect them to. I have sat next to people who didnt like watching the sprint cars, thats there opinon. Thats why I liked it there. you had plenty of classes to choose from. As far as the trucks having a good count. So did the compacts. The stock cars did two years ago untill they cut back there races last year, So do the mods. Two years ago the sprints were lucky to get 10 cars. So who cares how many they get.
Bob

Mr. Cornes,

My intention is not to bash, speculate, bad mouth and etc.
In fact I wish you the best of luck on your first Sunday race. I hope it goes well, in fact I was even considering racing that night. It just seem's that so much has taken place in such a short time, and it does seem confusing at times.
Again good luck with your Sunday racing program I hope it goes as well as you have hoped.
