 Easiest way to show Greg that the stockers want to be at WMSP is to show up Sunday May 18th with a very large car count.

Wouldn't it be great if they could make everyone happy all the time. No matter what they decide to do, someone will find a reason to complain.

Well, Underbird, The Stock car class was one that helped bring Waybesfield up to what it is today, and there are a bunch of us that didn't mind helping out, racing and talking UP the track and how it was improving and the great folks that were running it. We are not happy in case you haven't seen the schedule we are only there once, and we gotta pay that rediculously HIGH price to get into the pits. Eldora only charge us 12 to get in to the race at a late model show(pits I don't know). 1500 to win and you are paying 14.00 to get in plus the little guy in the trucks, etc. is paying 28.00.

Don't get me wrong I would like to see the stocks at the track a few times more myself, however Greg has made the decision. So be it. The one show that is scheduled, if the stocks can show up with a big car count then this will maybe reverse Greg's thinking. I've been at the track many times when the stocks was on the regular schedule and the car count was low and ones that did show up at WMSP was because they didn't have the equipment to run at the Big E.

The stocks at Waynesfield was growing very well for the first three years, untill last year when 7 races was scheduled, that is what made people talk. And when the schedule came out this year and no stocks on the FIRST schedule, makes people talk more. It's Gregs track and if he doesn't want stocks there, that's fine. I'll be there on STOCK SUNDAY to see if there's going to be more races after that.

p.s. Underbird-- The first three years for stocks was great, alot of Big-E /limaland cars was there. I've been there for five years and I have the equipment for the Big-E, but the injoy a track that is more FAMILY oriented.

I personally know that there probably won't be a lot of them just because of how we were treated last year. For instance Jerry Butler had to move his father's memorial race to Eldora because we didn't have but a few measly races. They sure aren't gonna get the people to hang around for the trucks, who do you think is more popular? Stocks or trucks. Honestly?

I don't understand your comment "lets start our own new trend" and you mention copying another tracks class???????

Anyway I agree with you in the aspect of turning the truck into a V8 class. Lets get realistic about the stock class it's pretty much a Limited Late Model class now but the only difference is that they still pay bomber pay scales around here except for Limaland's opportunities for bigger money shows.

So who's not realistic? The guy that puts $20,000 into his stock (AND IS TOUGH TO BEAT) to run for $300 or the guy that puts $2,000 into a truck to run for $170. I think from a operational standpoint the truck class is a no brainer versus the stock class unless you run Limaland all the time. I know that people are going to say they don't have that much in their stockcar and run just fine......bullcrap. What I see is when the Babcocks, Craigs, Conovers, Gossards, and Andersons show up they pretty much steal the show and the rest of the cars only move up in order due to attrition.

If your point of the trucks "sucking" so bad is from a view in the stands.....well I don't know then because I'm not used to watching them from the stands. I do like watching the stock and have great frineds that run them but I simply don't see the value of running them in today's economy.

Strictly my opinion.

I like 4 bangers. I wish stocks were still running at wmsp too. I don't think the Sunday admission fees are outrageous. I think that improvements can be made at wmsp, but getting on racestud and complaining isnt going to do anything but get other to reply with more negativity. You should call Greg and talk to him, he is probably one of the fairest guys you'll meet almost to a falt. Sat night racing was done around 10, I think stocks could have run.

Danny you make a great point on the overpriced stock cars,I know most of those guys and raced with most of them. I know for a FACT most of them have well over $15,000 in them. The truck class at wfmp is a very competitive class, and to make a V-8 class of them will only work if you keep it a totally stock V-8 class. When fremont started there truck class it was chevy had to run a 305,ford a 302,dodge a 318, well now that is all out the window and you have to run at least a 406 alcohol engine to be competitive. I had a ball running a wfmp last year, and this year at fremont I am going to struggle but it is so much closer to home. With the rising gas prices,we made the call to change, and my sponsor's were pissed when 3 weeks before racing I still was not able to give them a waynesfield schedule. I think if wfmp want's to make it a better track a revolving schedule with the stock cars added on saturdays will be a much better way to go. Not only that but it gives each division a week off to catch there breath. Are you doing any driving this year Danny?

No, I'm not driving this year at all. #1 I want to spend time with my children while they are young. last season I missed 5 of my oldest sons ballgames because I had to rush to the track on a Saturday to race. #2 The rising costs just make it nicer to be a spectator. #3 I still have the desire to drive but I also have priorities in my family and my wallet so it's time to take a break. Now if the situation ever arose to drive a show or two then sure that would be an option.

So you're racing trucks at Fremont this year Denny?
