Maybe the trucks can all run there next year since rumor has it that they will not be back after this season. At least some of you can check out and find other tracks before next season.

Where do these rumors come from? If you want to know these things.....why don't you speak up during the weekly drivers meetings instead of getting on here and STARTING these rumors.

I did not believe the rumor, only tried to get an answer to put it to rest and ease some minds. I do not put my personal contact info online due to hackers and identity theft so therefore my question cannot get answered. I am not a driver so cannot ask in a meeting. Maybe there is a driver or drivers who will ask in the meeting? But yes, stocker, that is the the one.

kenny, i`d love to speak up during the next drivers meeting but unfortunately they aren`t running my class this year.
To be perfectly honest one of the biggest reasons i went back to a stock was because of the desions of who is going to run the track,is the track going to be open, are the trucks still going to run,so on and so forth.

why dont some of you that seem to know who, what and where call who is going to sign the lease and ask what the classes will be at least it would do away with the b.s and speculation.because they would not enter into a lease without a business plan and they know exactly what they plan to do already so if they are an honorable person they would give up that info.

Youi know Wmp has only had one race this season and every one is asking questions about next year. Why not just sit back and enjoy this seasons racing. If there are questions to be asked about next year why not wait until about the end of the season then do some asking. Why ask some thing now at a driviers meeting, when greg is only taking care of what is going on now. If some know who will be signing the lease for next year ask him when you see him. I think i know who it is , but if he hasnt signed yet there is no need to be asking questions yet. I heard he will be signing in sept if i heard right. Lets just enjoy what we have now and wait until later to start asking questions. If Greg will be leasing the track to some one for next year proably the only thing greg is concerned about is whats going on right now, and if he has some one asking about next year , greg will proably let that man worry about what he has in the works for next year. Greg might know a little about what he has in store for next year but it is proably not up to greg to say what that mans plans are as of right now. I think all we need to worry about now is if the weather will break for us again this weekend.

Excellent question!!!! I talked to him at Waynesfield and at Lima the night before. He didn't say anything about dropping the trucks to me. Who did he tell this to? I will call him to confirm your info. Like Skip said....we go back quite aways.

I think it's crazy to worry about rumors for next season. My thoughts are unless you hear it from Greg then let it go. As for running other track, I've always been a proponent of broadining our horizons in the truck class but everytime we had something lined up not many people wanted to join. For instance, Stateline Speedway would run our class on a regular basis for $200 to win on Friday nights but I could never get enough trucks to go due to work schedules and all other kinds of reasons. My theory is that you will only get better when you run various tracks and set-ups.....if you stay at WMP all the time then there is no challanges to face other than rough or smooth. Some of the trucks like to run at lawrenceburg one weekend a year at the funfest and that's cool. As for the track that B-Rad mentioned.........two problems......they're mostly V6's and they have a $1,000 entire truck claim rule (engine, chassis and all). You can't build one for $1,000!! I checked into running this track and Hilltop a couple of years ago until I found this out. Plust they only run for around $100 with very little payback. But if you simply want to turn laps then it's the place for you =) Personally........I think the truck class is going to die sometime soon also. I hate to see it but that's just my opinion. It's a very nice fun class to run but it's hard to police a stock class. That's not saying anything bas about anyone at all.....it's just stating a fact that stock classes are hard to police. A couple of years back there was a guy that was checking carbs and distributors but he looked right at some 500cfm carbs and couldn't tell the difference. The only true way to police it is to have tear down and inspection equipment and that isn't cost effective for Greg at all. The sae thing is going on in the mini's.........there aren't many mini's that have just a 600cc engine. I don't know the rules fully but I think there is a 600cc limit. Anyway.........I like the truck class but unless you guys broaden your horizon you'll be setting on trucks that can't run anywhere......I'm sorry...and gals =) By the way.....look out for Jessica this year because if her luck turns around she'll be very tough to beat!!

Dean stood in our pits at Eldora and talk to us quite awhile about the track. Dean said he is signing a four year deal but would not be until latter this year because of his Late model series. As far as what he is going to run?? I asked a few questions about the classes and the only thing he did was look at the ground. I said if cub is there the stock cars wont be and he just looked at the ground!!! Dean did not sway either way. But when you read someones face after a question the look was not good. He talked about his class and the sprints But no minis no trucks or stocks was even talked about. I would not say he is going to drop any class. With the car counts going down every where you might need all of these classes to put on a full night of racing. So i would just set back have fun this year with the racing and let Dean do with it what ever way he wants there next year and we all just need to learn to live with what ever he goes with. well put Tim! This is an honest statement and not a rumor.....and the nice thing about it is that the only info that Dean gave was that he has a desire to sign a 4 year lease... Please don;t start a rumor out of this question anyone but please explain to me what benefit would it be for Dean to have WMP on Saturday night and still have Eldora running on Saturday night? Am I missing something or is he thinking of a different night? Doesn't Dean still have a lot to do with Eldora? He's the promoter there isn't he?

No Larry Bose is the track dude there . Dean has beeen out of there for quite awhile. Deam had the world of out laws late model for a while and then started the IRS late model series. Deam is a big late model person. And with the guy from oak shade there this year I would bet my money that they are going to make this a late model track. And that could be a good thing something different to go and watch.

I wouldnt be surprised to see dean with a sunday show. if he has plans for findlay with 2 sunday shows i look for him to do the same at Wmp and not try to go against eldora. If its true its nice to hear he will sign a 4 year lease, I hope he keeps all of the class,s on a rotating basis.
