WMSP, you couldn't get 25 in these two classes, why do you expect to get 40 stock cars or more? Something is just not right. Any Comments????

Don't quote me on this, but I think Eldora had almost 30 Saturday nite. I was there, they had a great show with USAC and stocks, mods were sort of low, but had enough for a good feature. A l;ittle dusty, but ali-in all a good turn-out of sprints. track was really fast early on. Didn't see that huge water truck, so maybe it was broke down, or they thought since we had so much rain last week it didn't need it.who knows?

Wmp had a great night of racing, eldora only had 25 stocks. as for the mods at wmp. what were there put on one hell of a show in the feature. banks, keeler, bibler, and smith went at it, it was some good racing. plus they had a good crowd. eldora only had 25 stock cars, the counts are down on stocks where ever you go lima or eldora. some one said wmp had 28 sprints, eldora 32 usac sprints, i would have to say thats pretty close. if you were to run stocks on a sat night at wmp the same night as eldora, you wouldnt have very many at either track. i was only at wmp but i wouldnt be afraid to say that the mods at eldora, were not 2 and 3 wide like they do at lmp and wmp. Its my own personel opinion , i would rather see a few cars running 2 and 3 wide on a short track than single file on a big track. I must admit i havent been to eldora that much in the last 2 years but when i was it was up on the wall with the mods. if dean goes to a sunday show next year in what ever he runs, i will say that he will have a good crowd and car counts. as far as pay outs for stocks lmp has some good big pay days for the stocks with special shows. The economy is putting a pinch on racing where ever you go, the only thing i can say is support what ever track you decide to go to and try and enjoy it with the pinch the gas prices is putting on every one. Like mike brecht said in the lima news paper when he can run at 2 tracks that are only about a 20 minute drive apart with a 360 class thats where he will be.

Dr. Speedy have you been to Waynesfield yet this year it's only been two shows and I must say the car count isn't that bad. We have had to run B-main in a couple class both shows. Now don't be on here bashing the track just because the are not running stock cars weekly. Know I wasn't born yesterday and I think myself it was a bad thing beacuse they are the class the bring the family to watch races but that is another thing, that was there decision. I do have the car count for last weekend which was 18- mods 23- trucks 28- sprints 13-mini?? But not looking at the car count the racing for the last two weeks was awsome unlike eldora sometimes follow the leader, they can run anywhere on the track and be fast just not the bottom like places.

Eldora had 32 sprints, 33 mods, and 25 stocks. The mods ran close with a lot of passing. They did not water the track due to the radar showing rain moving in.

I could see 25 to 30 stock cars for that Sunday show maybe a little more or even less then 25 cars. Its going to be hard to get the the car count. How long has it been since you saw over 30 cars at limaland and all this year we have not had over 30 cars at the big E. Last year we had over 40 at every race at Eldora and where are they this year. We are going to run the Sunday show for only one reason and thats to help the car count. And maybe get the stock cars back another show or two this year. WMP is a good place to race! I just don't know about racing on Sunday. Its costing way to much to race anymore and alot of these teams can't go every week and loose money just for a hobby or expect to brake even or be ahead on the money count. Lets just hope the weather holds out this week with three nights of racing on tap.

You know I agree with Boday on this. If you are comparing Eldora and WMP then save your breath because they are two totally different styles of tracks and have two totally different styles of ownership. WMP is doing just what they say they are going to do and that is provide an affordable entertainment and a family enviornement close to home. We could argue all day about this class or that class but the bottom line is in business tough decisions have to be made and Greg made a decision. I think the stocks put on a great show and would love to see them every week but I also respect how Greg has ran the facility. I think it would be super easy to pull the plug on the truck class but keep this in mind......WMP is the track that started this class and this is the only place they currnetly can run. The trucks have always had counts around 20-25 and that hasn't changed in three years. One night we had around 30 at Lima. WMP is doing a fine job and car counts are lucky to be even average with todays economy.....be thankful. The only concern I have locally is the timing of this weekends show. If I'm not mistaken the 4 wheel jamboree is this weekend in Lima and that could draw the fan base away.....but Late Models have their own fanbase and it might offset that. I just think the counts will be a little low. The tug-a-truck in Wapak is Saturday night also.......so alot of money could be spent by a motorsports fan this weekend =)

When you have 2 tracks less than 15 miles apart (give or take a few) both being about the same in size what a better way to spend your money and save on fuel. eldora does have a few nights where there is no show. so might as well go some where.

Yea I heard that they had a good turn out last year. My cousin runs the one in Wapak on Saturday night so I'll be there working. I know it will be a success at WMP though!

Look, I'm not trying to run wmsp down at all, I just think the stock cars are getting a bad rap here. We liked running there. and now we are possibly not going to be able to run only one race this year if the car count isn't high. we are hauling about 45 min. to an hour to race there. And even further to Lima. We could run Eldora, but are choosing not to. So, we're sort of in a pickle here.

Dr Speedy, Why do you choose not to run Eldora?????? Its way to close to home not to run and if you win there!! WOW no better feeling. Then you can say you beat the best that was there that night. People dont read this the wrong way but a win at Waynesfield does not compare to a win at Limaland or Eldora. Maybe in a few years from know the track will have its own prestige of a Limaland or Eldora them tracks have been around for so many years and look at the names that have won there. Like Skinny Kenny said this is there 5th year grow with them not against them. I know we are going to run there Sunday if the weather lets us. And the only reason is to help the car count and maybe get a few more races this year for other teams. I cant say we will run there any more the rest of the year until they say yes or no and add other date on the program. I hope the weather holds off all weekend and we get to race three days in a row.

Dr speedy dont take this the wrong way i think i know who you run with if im wrong disreguard . But your driver won a race at wmp last year or the year before. If eldora runs stocks you have a better chance of winning at wmp. Your driver has the talent but proably not the money to run with some like stocker said at lmp or eldora. There is nothing wrong with running on a limited budget a lot a people do. You proably like to run where you have a chance at wining. If eldora didnt run stocks on a sat night a lot a the heavy hitters would show up at wmp. Racing has gotten into a big dollar sport. Plus i know a lot a people dont like to run eldora because of the wear and tear on the motors. Plus if your driver is who i think he is he doesnt like lima. for what ever reasons that is his choice. I to would like to see the stocks back at wmp , I think you only have 3 choices around here and that is lmp wmp and eldora. I must admit it is nice for the truck class some dont care for them but it is a nice low budget way of racing. its a shame more dont get into it. I think a lot have yet to get their trucks together. Like i said Dr speedy dont take it the wrong way if i had a stock car and had a chance to win thats where i would proably run at wmp. i dont think i would have the money to stay with some of them at eldora and lmp. Good luck to where ever you run . Plus can you believe these gas prices i have heard that at st marys and walmart in wapak that it is already 4.50 a gallon. In lima right now it is 3.95. thank god im only 4 miles from lmp and maybe 15 from wmp. I feel sorry for some one like woodard who is from ky. I dont think a win would pay for their towing money.

Skip, we ran a race at the big e last year and were running in the top 3 and blew a rr tire, it's the choice of our driver/owner. We really like running at Waynesfield, we just wish we had more races to race there. And now being threatened with none if the stock count is not around has got us worried. He doesn't do this for a living and like late model folks do, or sprints. Yes, Tim won the first feature of the year at WMSP. And yes I'm on his crew. We'll be there sunday if it doesn't get R.O.. And thanks for the"good luck" Yea gas here went to $395.9 REDICOLOUS!!
