I wanted to get everyone's input on the track saturday night. I am not concerned with how rough or smooth it was. I was simply amazed how how dusty it was. I know it is a dirt track and there will always be dust. no big deal. But when they took off you couldn't see the cars on the track. I think that was totally insane to have those cars racing in those conditions. How in the world can that be safe? Also it can't be that entertaining for the fans to sit up there and barely be able to see the cars. I would like to see some of the sprint drivers give their feedback on what it was like. To me it wasn't safe to be racing when you can't even see the cars.

I'm not a driver but from the grandstands I thought the classes all looked slower than usual.

I think a lot of the problem was drivers getting of the racing surface a little bit in turn 4. I understand that some times they have to to avoid somebody. But if we keep that wet down there they could have more troubles. Also the wind was not on our side Saturdsy nite. You must admit in is usally not a problem at WMSP.

it was a little dusty but it was not that bad. overall i thought track was good. one night of a little dust isnt bad we do race on dirt and the track crew does an excellent job

Exactly, we come to see racing on a dirt track, expect to get alittle dirty.. And I have to agree, most of the dust that was being thrown up was from drivers cutting the turns short and putting their left side tires up in the infield dirt. The cars did seem alittle slower to me as well, but I think thats because the track was slick.. I overheard alot of the sprint car drivers stating it was slick out there and that you needed throttle control to make it through the turns. Still turned out to be some good racing.

The track was alot slower this week. It was the slickest its been in a long time. I hate dry slick tracks but thats just my opinion. Waynesfield is still the best thing goin. I asked the track crew about putting tires back around the inside of the turns to keep people from running the infield but i guess they didnt want to. So until they do or someone gets hurt or loses a car because of the total blackout it causes on the track i guess everyone will just have to deal with it. I also think a light fell out of place or something because turn one has gotten really dark. Maybe its just me.

It was a humid and windy night. Just remember all the nice track surfaces you have had at wmp this year. It is a dirt track you cant hit it every week. As far as the tires i dont like them. In my opinion, when they did use them they had them pushed so far out in the corners it took up some of the racing surface. I would rather see some dust from some one going down where they shouldnt. Than see some one hitting one of them flipping or tearing up a car. maybe just put some water down there. I remember watching usac sprints back in the 60,s at eldora on a sunday afternoon, and you want to talk dust. It was a scary situation seeing guys run around with no roll cages in that dust. i think the dry slick track threw a lot a people off sat night.

It was better than Millstreams this week  Give wmsp some credit they are out there trying to put on shows every week for all the racers and dirt track fans. Its not always going to be perfect but at least we are at a track and racing, that is more than we can say about millstream. My hat is off to all involved with making wmsp a go week in and week out.

Very true! And I was happy to see that the Shobemobile stayed parked by the road instead of rolling away this week..LOL Watching from the stands we always see him actually running here and there, working all night long to put on a good show. Thanks to everyone behind the scenes that never get the recognition they deserve. I know alot of complaining goes on but anytime you get more than 5 people together that is going to happen. I know my family enjoys and looks forward to coming out each and every week. Saturday night racing is the highlight of our week. It may seem like we pick on certain people or drivers but it's just all racing and the desire to see our truck in victory lane. No hard feelings! Thanks again for a great week!

I agree that they do a great job with the racing surface. And its actually nice that the track isnt the same every week. And even though i hate when the track gets dry slick, its still ok because its going to be different next time. If they keep the tires up on the little rise on the inside of the track it would keep cars out of the infield without interfering with the track and no one would hit them unless they were cutting the corners. Driving off the corners blind because of the dust screen is not fun. If they can fix it with just watering it, im all for that too.
