Mike "The Enforcer" Hicks already had four feature wins in his truck this season and wanted number five. Hicks wasted little time getting to the front. Three time truck winner Gabe Twining and two time truck winner Jessica Nuss fought a good battle for the runner up position but neither could provide much of a challenge for Hicks. The 600cc mini-sprints would see a new visitor to Waynesfield's victory lane. Sam Ashworth drove his white and orange #92 mini-sprint like a seasoned veteran to lead most of the race and earn his carrer first victory. Mini-sprint heats were won by Loney and Devon Dobie. As the high powered non-wing sprint cars were being push started on the track, a slight sprinkle of rain began to fall. The tiny bit of rain never amounted to much and those sprint cars have enough motor their spinning wheels just blew the rain drops off the track. Kate Heitkamp driving the number 20 truck finished 3rd and was announced as finishing 3rd but when they took her picture they gave her 4th place. we addressed this at they pay out and was told that it wasnt their deal and they had nothing to do with it. i heard from a few other people in there that she did finish 3rd and that the 71 truck was a lap down. from the 2 videos ive seen she did finish 3rd. im not very happy with the response i got from the track with this issue. so i dont know why the 71 truck got the 3rd place finish. Kate needs the credit she deserves for the place she finished she did a Great job!!!

You are very welcome Tom. I do my very best to help the track and all the racers in any way that I can each and every week. You did a great job coming from the b main all the way to an 8th place finish in the feature but was it really necessary to "rub" me so hard when you passed me? LOL I just couldn't pass up the chance to give you a hard time.

Jamie....I only posted the top 3 powder puff finishers because those were the only names that I knew. I am giving a free 8x10 photo to the top 5 powder puff finishers. I can assure you that if a mistake was made in the "unofficial" scoring of the powder puff race it was just that.....A Mistake. I was busy watching my wife (who ran 2nd in the race) and I thought 1st and 2nd place lapped all of the other trucks. Sonny (the wrecker driver) had all the $$ and trophies to hand out. I know that he was busy trying to find the 5th place truck because she didn't stop on the track after the race as instructed. Tell Kate that when she comes to my photo booth to pick up her picture, I will have the difference of money in the envelope with the photo. And please let her know that we are sorry about the mistake.
The track really didn't have anything to do with the powder puff other than the owners let us use the track to have some fun. All cash and prizes were provided by Allied Enviromental.
Thanks.........SkinnyKenny

i don't understand why someone always has to complain just cause things don't go quite their way. why can't we all just have fun and get along without all the drama!!!!! these constant complainers are taking all the fun out of racing. It's always I want to claim this and this one hit that one on purpose. Why can't we all just get along!!!!!

Phliot and I are only complaining about the scoring for the powder puff... it would have been a great night... it was my first race and i got third... but the 71 [ who was a lap down ] pulled in and took my 3rd place credit and trophy... i find this quite rude.. shes not even in the top five>!!! i jus think that i desearve credit for what i did and the person who got forth and fifth and so on should all get credit for what they did>!!!

There have been times when Tom has gotten scored out of the wrong place but we just let it go. There's no use in arguing. It's like in any sport, the people doing the scoring are only human and try their best. Our kids wrestle and get cheated out of so many points but there's no point in arguing all the time. The important thing is that you know in your heart where you finished. Everyone stayed safe and had fun. Those are the 2 most important things when it comes to racing. I hear there is another one coming up so go back out and try again. Good luck!

for the record the 71 truck was waved in to the winners circle and handed third place. It was not a choice made by the driver but by the guy in the infield who waved her in. I'm not saying it was right or wrong and I'm not saying the 20 truck didn't to a great job, i'm just saying it was the choice of the people in the box scoring and the guys in the infield that waved her in. they made the decisions not the driver of the 71. I think all the ladies did a great job. I think 20 should get credit where credit is due but don't blame the drivers of the other trucks. none of the drivers had anything to do with the decisions that were made

i agree the issue should be addressed so that the same mistake doesn't happen again, and you have every right to your feelings. no one can tell you how or what to feel, and i have come to the conclusion that you are a good sport. we should all be good sports but sometimes that's hard until we have factual information. Nice chatting with you! Have a nice day!

Looks like we need to THANK all those who work in the scoring tower each week during the normal shows. Their job is a lot harder than most of us can imagine! Good Job ladies in the Powder Puff ! :P
