Did anyone go to the truck meeting last night? Were there anything settled on engine rules or any other rule changes that need to be addressed. I wanted to come but my boy surprised us and came home from the service for the holiday weedend. Please let me know what Dean has changed for 09. If my truck does not sell I may join you guys this year now that there is a steady promotor who won't screw around this season, and what til 2 weeks before opening to put out a schedule.

I cant give you word for word but brought the motors back to a little closer to stock and said the rules would be out in a couple of weeks, check the website or call him a call and he will send you a set. Later, Roger

Sounds like a few people are going to have to do a little toning back on their heads. This was nothing new.......we all started putting bigger valves in the heads the second year this class came out. I was happy in the 2006 season (the last season I ran my Chevy). I blew an engine in the beginning of the year and I bought a s-10 street motor on EBAY.........I did nothing more than put a Rochester carb on it and ended up winning 3 races against some guys that had done some top end work!!!! BUT the track was a dry slick track that year and handling was the key!!!!! You guys can still find some power advantages.....you just have to look elsewhere =) I can't beleive that the drivetrain's aren't really under question?????? Some pretty nice triple disc full out racing clutch's out there =) Nice to hear that you can run any rear end but a 9"............gives you more options there for final drive ratio and launching ratio's....(where Mr Hicks was killing everyone last year!!!!!!!) This is a commnet towards Mike also everyone.....He did his homework to find out how he could launch 10 lenghts on everyone and it wasn't as simple as starting in 1st gear...hter's more to it than that....hint hint. Should be a very nice season at the track with a super promoter and as always a heck of a guy that owns the track!!

Hey there Dan, do ya have any more info into what's gonna be checked next year. If we don't get our truck sold( #26 ) I might be running it until it sells. My daughter was sick the day of the last meeting so I couldn't make it. Yea, while I'm on here, Jessica's truck is still for sale if someones wants to get into the trucks. I think everyone knows this is a turnkey front runner. Need info info call DJ at 419-234-5741.

I wasn't at the meeting either. The info that I've mentioned comes from someone that was at the meeting (second hand though). The only things I heard that are different are: 1. Only 350 CFM carb. (this was a rule in 06' but wasn't enforced in 07' & 08' so I'm sure people ran 500's.....I did!) 2. Hoosiers on right rear mandatory. I guess for a contingency fund. 3. Weigh no less than (don't quote me on the exact figure.....my memory is escaping me) 2450 lbs with driver. 4. No oversized valves. (there is an exact percentage that you'll be loowed to be over but I'm not sure what that is) There will be some verbage regarding the valve seating also.....not sure the exact verbage. 5. Fords will only be allowed to mill no more than .100 off the head (again...not sure whether that's the exact amount). You are limited on how far you can go on a Chevy anyway......not sure if they are discussing the Toyota's but you have plenty of room to do things there =) 6. No enclosed interiors 7. You can run any rear end but a 9". Sounds as if if you are running a Chevy truck you can put an 8.8" Ford in....hmmm many more gear options there. 8. I think once someone wins so many races that will result in an automatic tear down. They are going to supply the gaskets but you need to reassemble yourself....I would want to do this anyway =) Those are the biggest rule differences that I remember hearing but again.........it's not exactly how I said it here.

I heard a lot a guys on here saying they got a motor from the junk yard with 100,00 miles on it. Seems to me if some one would just take a motor and rebuild it so it would be fresh would be a lot better. It just sounded like a lot a guys were using old motors that should of been rebuilt. Yes doing your homework makes for a up front runner and so does a fresh motor.

Skip....back when I ran that stock motor I didn't have time to rebuild it so I simply put it in and ran it. Remember...back then the track was a dry slick every week and lower banking so you didn't need a lot of HP in the top end. Well after Andy james did his thing to the track, the track was always tacky and more banking......which meant that the truck with a little top end work really came to the front. Now it appears that they are trying to even the palying field again. Nah...I don't have enough time to do it on my own anymore....if I could ever get some help I could race some shows but tha't tough to come by in this economy anymore. Your truck is so awesome though and would make someone a wonderful buy!!
