Hey Skip have something for you to check out.Heard this weekend that Long in the 7L car was told Firday night if he did't like the call that was made in regards to getting back onto the track in the feature to load up and go home. Understand that this is what the 7L team did and they will not be back

if everyone that was ever told that at lima did it, there would only be about 14 cars there total in all 3 classes.

my dad talked to him after that and he said as of right now he will not be back. he had a full schedule this year and was only going to make a few of the races. and he felt it was rude that after all these years he has come and raced they make a call like that when his crew was waiting right by the gate with a new tire and he is supposed to be aloud to have like 2 laps to fix his car. and then when he goes to ask why it was called like that the track guy (who wont be named) said "if you dont like it pack up and go home and dont come back". so he wasnt very happy. i mean hes a veteran comes back every year especially this year when hes going to be in different states hes a past tractk champion and thats how they treat him WOW thats sad. like my dad said right now they barely have enough for a B-main. and there losing a lot of there fan base. theres like a whole corner in the grandstand where like all the Long fans sit. if they find out he got screwed they wont be back i know that for a fact. he has other places to go. its like $15,000 to win in like Oklahoma. it may hurt his fan base if he stays away but that was rude in my opinion especially to a veteran after all these years WOW!

rather or not your vet that shouldnt make a difference. i wasnt there but if this is true then i would have to say i dont agree with it but limaland does this to everyone. i dont think that i have ever seen a driver with a flat tire get 2 laps to fix it and even when someone does fix it before they throw the 1 lap to go limaland never lets them back onto the track. so nothing against darren but it is true that they do this to everyone.

they do get 2 laps, but the main concern darren had was that all the infield workers sat there and sucked on there thumb for two caution laps, and didnt push him back into the pits until they were ready to go green, thats why he was mad, and i would be too. there is 10 trucks in the infield, i would think 1 could give him a push, waynesfield doesnt have near as much help, and ive seen them do it, hmmm?

This rule needs to be adjusted in some way. They are having trouble with it at Waynesfield to. It needs to be looked at real close with some way to police it better or give them more time. I just dont know what is causing problems and making a lot a confusion.

Here is my take on this: I think that the guys that make the feature should get more time to at the very least change a tire. With the cost of racing and of course this economy the tracks should be alittle more considerate. These guys put in alot of hours and miles to just go out and race and that is all they want to do. I agree with Skip , this needs to be looked at. Just my Opinion

look at the mods b main at the field the 118 car spun out (for the tenth time that night) under caution before race even started and took out the 20 of philpot and they gave him time to change tire but couldnt get it done in time. so my point is some teams have more help than others so i feel as many times the 118 spun out and held up the races he should of been put in the pits for being a idiot under caution and stopped cars and made the 20 car comeback out in time not 2 or 3 laps later. dont know who the 118 car was but he needs to notch it down some and learn to respect the other drivers and the power his car has. im not representing the 20 car or no one else just my opinion
IM BACK................

I was able to watch last night as Allisons crew was changing his tire at WRP, It just looks like it puts a lot a pressure on a crew who is watchiing the race , That has to run to a pit grab a tire run to where you have to change the tire, then rush to get it on. I think there is to much of a chance of a crew being rushed and not getting the tire all the way on and causing a safety factor. To me in my opinion 2 laps is not enought time , Its not nascar or irl. Last night with Allison at WRP it looked also like they were having their problems getting the tire on , but to their advantage there was a wrecker on the track getting a car off so they might of gotten a little more time. Dont quote me on it but it seemed like they had a little more time to do it. I must admit they have a lot money in their cars and should be given a little more time to do it. I wasnt there on Long so cant comment on it. As a fan i dont like to see the show drug out on time , but from the other side they do have a lot a money in their cars and should be given some time to get back out.

i understand what your saying skip but thats why the crew is there to not screw stuff up whether they have 2 or 5 laps shouldnt matter they should be able to get a tire off of the car and put a new one on within 2 laps. but at limaland it dont matter if you can get it done within a half lap they will still throw the green without you even if your sitting at the gate ready to go. limaland just dont care one way or the other.

If I were Darren I would be upset to, they dont have a two lap tire rule at lima anymore. But they use to about 11 year ago when real racers used to run the track. i cannot think of one good reason why they do not have a two lap tire rule , but i can think of five or six reasons why they should. After all the racers are the ones putting on the show not the race track. I compare it to a basket ball game, if a player loses his shoe, they stop and let him put it back on and tie it , they dont even give a time limit. they sure do'nt make him sit on the bench the rest of the game. though I've never been to a game at UNOH maybe they do there!!!!!!!!!. Good luck to Darren and the crew where ever you decide to race.

My point exactly WRENCH1 , I agree with you 100%!! Lima is only a 1/4 mile track , it does not take long even under caution to run a lap? What the heck is lima's hurry? Give the guys who put on the show alittle time in case of a small problem , they do fill the stands , the fans come to see THEM , not the track!!!! A race track can have all the history in the world , but it is BORING without the guys that are there to try to tame it!!! The officials at Lima need to QUIT treating these drivers like Crap! Note: Lima officials are complaining in the drivers meeting about low car counts in the Stock class stating that they are going to add the trucks if counts don't pick up , if I know Lima , it won't be more than one date , they hate change/variety. This is Limalands fault to begin with! I was at Eldora Sun. nite and they had almost 30 cars and alot of those guys used to go to Lima on a reg. basis? Like I said before , the economy is tough right now , let's all give each other some slack. Besides like I said above , I really don't know what the hurry there is in Lima these days???? I have been back home around 11:00 about every nite this season? Good Luck Darren 7L and I don't Blame you for being upset either

Yep....most every place gives a min of two laps. Due to the small size of the track, and the distance the exit is from the pit areas, three laps should be given. It's not like they don't have time - take some of the 300 track waterings that are back to the same crap after 2 laps, the time taken in to "run in the cushion"...... LEAVE the freaking cushion, there is NOTHING wrong with a cushion. The guys that have the stones and talent to run up there have an advantage, and it puts on a hell of a show for the fans. Last....the worthless intermission. For a track too stressed to give a guy a minute to change a tire who is running for national points, they sure waste a dickload of time!!!!! Allowing tire changes on an allotted amount of time makes yet another element of excitement for the fans. Is anyone listening??????????

i think the point that someone at lima is missing is when you lose a car you also lose about 20 fans that follow that car. lets see 5 pit passes @ 25 dollars and 20 grandstand seats @ 12 dollars wish i could afford to throw away 365 a week !!!!!!!!
