As a former racers of compacts at Waynesfield, we are very excited to see them back on the schedule. We know of several drivers who are coming with us to play on the dirt! Thanks to Dean for having us back!

They had a purse at WMP. They gave trophies out at Shady bowl a few years back. But now I think they pay.

Shadybowl pays nothing to compacts. The winner gets a voucher to get back in the next week. They have a few big races that pay a purse but on a regular night it's called a trophy class but there is not even a trophy. Shadybowl is a mess. The promoter does not care and does not have the $ to keep the place looking or running decent. Grass is waist high , track needs paved. rules are inconsistant. Tire truck has no tires. and so on.
It won't take much urging to get them to race with us at Waynesfield.

I am really glad to see compacts return. I just have a question before I stick money into building another. Is this just a this year thing or are they going to stay on the schedule for a least a couple years???

47 compact......I would say that determination can't be made at any track in the world. I would also think that would depend on the turnout that we have for the races. What we can't have happen is for people interested in running compacts to just come watch for the first few times to see what the turnout is going to be like because that would be one less car that could've been on the track. One thing you can rest assured on though is if you build a compact (hornet) there are plenty of places to race them here in western Ohio, it's not like the 4 cylinder truck class where there is only on eplace in western Ohio to race.

I will be there eventually I probably will not have anything built till next year you know the money factor and ther is quite a few modifications to make like fuel cell.

Well, we hope to get a full field of 20 cars to start the feature each week. Of coarse we realize that we won't get a full field of compacts for the 1st couple of races. A few cars have just been bought within the last week or so since the announcement was made. It will take these guys a few weeks to build the car before they get them on the track. A practice/test n tune was held this afternoon at Waynesfield and 7 cars showed up to get some laps in on the dirt. As the word gets spread around some, we should get maybe a dozen of the cars that run Shady Bowl in the begining. Combine those with the cars that are now under construction and hopefully we will come close to a full line up before this season finishes. I'm sure those Shady Bowl guys will start telling their friends just how much more fun it is to race on dirt and that will pick up a few more cars. When we ran compacts a few years ago, we got 12-15 regulars that showed up every week. Hopefully the car count will be higher this time around.

We had a great practice session. Thanks to WMP for having us back! It's nice just to hear the words "thanks for being here" from Dean. We have not heard nice words like that since the last time we raced there. It sounds like he has some great ideas and really cares.
