Findlay, OH- June 8, 2009- This is set the record straight about Waynesfield Raceway Park. I have never said I was going to close the track, I said I might need to make some changes to the schedule and I did that. This change was not because of a low car count one time. The track ran 2 NRA shows which were both great shows. The NRA drivers and staff did their job with perfection; the problem is no more people came to see those shows than we get for a non-santioned show. We did cut the NRA from out schedule for that reason only. The 360 sprints will still run this Saturday the 13th for $1000 to win. The show on the 4th of July was taken off of the schedule to give my people a weekend off. The 360 show on the 25th of July was taken off because there is a NRA show at KC Speedway that night. All I am trying to do is cooperate with everyone to bring you great fans a good show. As for speedweeks IT IS ON! We never said we were dropping it. We did say we were dropping the 360s and replacing them with trucks and stocks. I don't understand what gives someone not associated with the track the right to say something like that without checking it out first. Stock cars; you are not being dropped from the schedule, you have just been moved a couple times. If you count the dates, you will find you have 1 more date by the end of August. We will still run in September and October. That part of our schedule will be out later. In conclusion, I want to thank all of the great fans who are coming out to WRP every week to support us. We try to prepare a good track for you to watch the race on and get you out at a good early time. Again, I want to thank you, one and all for your support. If you like what you see tell a friend, if you don't, tell me! Thanks Dean Miracle

Thats to bad that you can't get anymore ppl there, but for one if you don't advertise how is anyone to know the track is even there? Marysville, Bellefountain, Indian Lake, Lima, those in Red don't even know that the track is there.... As Dwight Allen would say
Promote Promote Promote

its tuff to see changes like that in the schedule

The 360,s might have been taken off the schedule for speed weeks, but the 360,s can run against the 410,s . They have done it at lima. I would like to see some of the 360s make the attempt to do it , might be interesting to see what ones would try it. I think Horstman has done it and i think he did it last yr at WRP. Cub Burden make a good showing sat night running that crate motor against those 410,s , (below from Kennys results) Cub Burden had the most impressive drive of the night to finish 9th after winning the 1st B-main and starting the feature clear back in 17th spot. Nice job Cub when you fiqure he is running that crate motor. and he said all he did all winter was change the oil.

I not totally certain but I heard that crate moter of Cub's has a carburater on it instead of the injection that sprints use. That is Old School!

Kenny, if there is any way you can get some flyers made up (with Dean's permission ofcourse), I would be glad to pass them out down here around the Troy, Dayton area. Maybe put a small map on it, and the address, website, etc. Run it by Dean. Mac McConnell #35 Cornett Crew, Stock Car I'm the fat guy that looks like Wilford Brimley!!!!

Not sure if there is one person in charge of PR but we live toward Findlay and listen to the Findlay country station. Every other commercial is adverstising Fremont Speedway. The Findlay newspaper (The Courier) runs an ad for Fremont. Fremont is sure doing alot of adverstising in this area. There are tons of race fans in Findlay, anyone who attended Dean's race last year at Millstream knows that! There's not much to do in Findlay Ohio on Saturday nights. Maybe with a commercial on the radio it could pull in some fans. I think you could really pull some in with the $5 admission night. Millstream is running the All Star race the Sunday before the $5 admission night.......if someone could get flyers to that they would go right to the racing fans. We came to just watch ONE race 3 years ago and had a truck within 2 months of that first race so you never know what getting one family to the track will bring.

Talked with Dean today to ask for some flyers. He had already read your post. He has a printer in Cincy working on them already and they should be done about Monday.

Got to admit every one is helping out in any way they can. Its nice to see this kind of cooperation instead of putting each other down. Every little bit helps in any way, posters, on here or word of mouth. Plus the fast speed of the racing program. and great racing is a plus, that we all know. I know a salesman at work that might put a few of them out up around the findlay ottawa areas. Plus i know a few places.

SkinnyKenny, Can you print out pictures the same night that you take them? The reason I ask is the 18b truck of Tim Dick would like to purchase some, with the track drawing names of say 5-10 kids, we will bring the truck around and they can sit in,on or stand beside it whatever they want for the picture. Tim will be there to talk to them sign them we may even try to get some shirts made to give away also. As some of you may know Tim's youngest daughter was diagnosed with leukemia at the end of the season last year, this is why we run the orange and yellow paint scheme on the truck. Orange is the color of childrens cancer and yellow is the type (leukemia) just like pink for breast cancer. We also have some slogans on the truck for this along with a few other trucks that run waynesifield. Ashley is respnding well to treatments. Saturday is a night of fun for the Dick family and us and we are proud to be racing the truck at WRP. We are just looking at helping out where we can, bring awareness on cancer, and have fun racing (and hopefully sneak in a win)! Also we will bring paint markers and anyone wanting to sign the name or phrase of a survivor or victim of cancer they can sign the bed cover on the truck! You guys can help us pick out the nigh we will do this, just let us know. Thanks, Team 18b!

Hey Bandit, Im sure that ALOT of racers would help with cancer awarness! Maybe Dean would even have a cancer awarness night for the kids, If
I can do ANYTHING to help kids with Cancer or Leukemia let me know.Tim knows my #. I dont know of a better cause to be apart of!!
Im sure WRP Dean,Jane & the Shobe family would agree.

Seems like racers and fans always come together when some one is sick or hurt. The racing community can some times be harsh with one another but when a proablem comes around they tend to mend feelings and come out to help.

I can't print anything in the same night. We would have to take the photos and them give them out the next week. But maybe that would "make" the fans come back a 2nd time to pick up the photo of their kid. Talk with me at the track and I will do anything I can to help.
