I dont see why he dont come back home and hang up the Lucas Oil deal. He hasnt really done that great in it and it seems that hes tore up quite a few cars. I do give him a lot of respect for going out and running with them tho, but i think he would do a lot better back here.
What are you talking about he has tore up 1 car and has made 7 shows and in the last three weeks has went from 29th to 13th in points so get your facts straight thank you

I agree with Master of All, hes used a few provisionals...
Id like to see him come back and run here is all im saying. Hes struggled to make the show a lot of times with Lucas and all that. I think that he would do a lot better running NRA still. thats all im saying.
From the results ive seen, hes tore up a few cars this year.

Excuse me last week was the first week he could use a provisional. You have to be in the top 15 of the points to get a provisional. He has not tore up a bunch of cars he has ran the same one all year long. Also the top 35 in points show up just about every week so did think that going from 29th to 13th was a fluke because it wasn't.

Long is running good with them.. Tough competion there..

i agree, tough comp. but i also agree he would be better off in the nra and winning more often, which making a race on the lucas series is like winning a A main around here. long is tough at his local tracks.
Its called challenge. Darren could come back here and win more often, but with the competition hes running against making the show is like a win. If you want to be the best you have to run with the best.
i agreee wit racer50, darren is finnaly gettin the hang of all this, all the good guys like danny wood and alot of those guys that used to run WoO are makin darren feel more welcome to the ascs. if you want to get better, the only thing to do is move up, i dont think it would be very fun to just run the same tracks everyweek, by going all over is fun, and differnt and you can learn alot, and yeah darren has only tore up one car and that was last week end which wasnt his falt once again. so he is getting better and at the hang of things and is making a move in points, and also when he was running at i-90 in south dakota he was running second for a long time and he fell back to 4th and spun out and went to the tail with 20 some cars and only had what i think 10 laps and made all the way back up somewhere between 10th and 13th. so he is doing alot better.

I do agree that competition makes you better, but maybe he should run local 410s if hes worried about running the same track every week. He can run non wing, Attica, Fremont, All Stars, Butler, a variety of places. Im just a fan of him and id like for him to come back to his grassroots every once in awhile...
And sorry about the many cars tore up, ive read where hes flipped a few times. I was even listening to one race and he got it upside down. that was earlier in the season.
yeah he has flipped like 3 times but it hasnt hurt the car it was just minor parts, but he doesnt like racing non wong i dont believe, but he likes the ascs, he will be at limaland some, were supposed to be there the 31st of july, then that next week we will be takin off to knoxville. 3 races for the ascs in august, which is the knoxville nationals and will be around local i would imagine till september.

I think Darren is doing a great job on the road. The first 10 shows were all on tracks that the National Tour guys have ran countless times and now they are getting on the road and everyone is learning the tracks and Darren is right in there. Darren stated to me he had the chance to travel and do this series and it might be once in a lifetime chance so he was going to do it.
Heck, at least he is in the points payout now and gets tow money since he is in the Top 15 in points. Check out the point fund, not too shabby.
The complete breakdown of the 2009 point fund for the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters is as follows: 1st - $60,000; 2nd - $30,000; 3rd - $25,000; 4th - $22,000; 5th - $18,000; 6th - $16,000; 7th - $14,000; 8th - $12,000; 9th - $11,000; 10th - $10,000; 11th - $8,500; 12th - $7,000; 13th - $6,000; 14th - $5,500, 15th - $5,000.
Heard they said it might not work out and they might only run 5-6 races, but they would give it a whirl. You need to remember the crew is family--not high dollar wrench men. Just local country boys. And I'd bet the 7L team would be the first to say the NRA is stiff competion any given nite.
nope, he is running the whole series this year, he might only run half dozen at limaland if thats what you hurd, but he has ran all the races for ascs besides the speedweek which you didnt have to run
