Slight correction....the driver is waiting on the "official word" from the track on whether he can enter in the kings in a lmp legal stocker. If the weight, tires, and carb were changed on the truck, I can't think of anything in the rules that would make it illegal by the actual stock car rules, with the exception of specifically naming truck chassis not legal.
#42Posted 24 August 2009 - 06:42 PM glad to see all the talk about my win friday night here is my thoughts. my truck weighed in at 3090 race ready,as for the choke horn we run alky and demands more air, barrels are stock diameter.tires think helped even things out, stocks can run mono leaf with coil over, and not even in stock location.driver more setback in chasis.we have stock s-10 leafs 3 on each side mounted in stock location with only 90/10 shock mounted above rearend only used in braking conditions.i do think where i had the advantage was my gear that i ran.asked aropund and most was running a 600 stop and go racing were i had a 567 and ran aroubd top rpm was at 6700 more than fremont!I think my truck should be allowed as it was since it passed tech and you guys were given points!had a great time and met some new people.does anyone think it could have been just my driving that got me the win.starting 8th and didnt touch anyone is great racing.i race my truck 2x a weekend both at fremont and attica alot of seat time helps.I think in complete fairness i (driver) should be allowed in race in either my truck to limas weight rule of 3200lbs or in a limaland thunderstock if i could get a ride.just wanted to put out my 2 cents,no negativity intended!was a awesome night at awseome track with awesome racers and fans. thanks Dan Hennig #43Posted 24 August 2009 - 06:48 PM
I don't think the stocks are allowed coilovers, or eliminators. Last I knew, quite a few of the stock guys were still quite fast on multi-leafs. I think the 7b has been back on them quite a while. I didn't get to see it, but it sounds like you did indeed run a great, clean race.....but there are also quite a few veterans at LMP as well. Don't know the answer here.....but I personally think if they didn't state trucks couldn't qualify for the kings race BEFORE this race took place, then they need to work with you to get you in the show on FAIR terms. They don't have to like it, but need to swallow their pride and do what's fair. PS, maybe the university will put you in one of their cars, I don't think either of them have qualified. #44Posted 24 August 2009 - 06:57 PM
I think its a shame that you are getting caught up in this , seems like if the stocks got points for the night and you won under what they said you could run. seems like you should be able to run your truck. I think they should of thought this out better. I think in all fairness you should bring your truck to lima and those who have made the King of the 1/4 mile should be asked if you can run. I think that since you beat them on their turf that they would like the chance to see if they can beat you again. I hope they hash this out before friday, i think the stock boys would like a second chance at you. Its just my 2 cents worth. I think it would add a little more excitment to the stock king of the 1/4 mile.

Well, it seems to me you have the support from most everyone....and I agree with skip, I think those boys would like another shot at you. In my opinion, Lima dropped the ball with this one, by not making this a black and white policy BEFORE the races. If you read the kings rules as they are written, there is no reason to disqualify you. If they want to have you in an equal car - perfect....the university owns two cars. Your record speaks for itself, you can handle a car....so what do they have to lose by making this right? Also - to the point of supporting the weekly racers, there have been quite a few once or twice a year 360 guys that have gone to the kings, and won. Best of luck, and I am really expecting Lima to do the right thing here....you won by the rules, and should be in the race....by the rules. Tim Cole #47Posted 24 August 2009 - 07:28 PM
I agree, if they can let todd sherman and others run the mod in florida every year, than they can let henning run one of unoh's stock cars. but i still think henning should be able to run his truck on the same rules he already ran under and was legal with..... Its just that u won on limaland turf..... dam you......... lol come on limaland let him run again and maybe ur 2 favorite son's might out run him this time.

Just goes to show you that the INFAMOUS Limaland Favortism is alive and well
Mr. Henning was approved to race last Friday nite in his truck , he should be allowed to bring it back (as it was) set up last week and run the King this week! JMO
However would Not be surprised if the officials would find something wrong with it this week!
Congrats on your Win Mr. Henning , driving does have ALOT to do with it

Who told you that, friday is suppose to be the last chance to make the king of the 1/4 mile. it always has been the last chance. Or are you talking about last friday when you won?

He's saying they announced AFTER the race that it wasn't a qualifying night. Right..... #55Posted 25 August 2009 - 06:13 PM last fridays night race wasnt a qualifier even if a nonwinner thunderstock car won was told that today on phone with promoter.how many thunderstocks going to millstream sunday? #56Posted 25 August 2009 - 08:01 PM

#58Posted 25 August 2009 - 08:37 PM what should be done is none of the qualifiers race, protest it till the track makes the right call. Whats the matter Limaland worried your king of the 1/4 mile might be a truck,Dan is a great racer and should be in that race! I'll bet if earl still owned the track he would do the right thing cause he is a man true to his word! You guy's should try it some time you might get a little respect! While i'm airing my thought's.It seems kinda funny that Koz's is running tony's engine, and just happens to take out the guy 2 weeks in a row that is right behind tony in the points! 22T win the championship by any means neccasary! Good luck to everybody Friday and race safe and clean. LIMA DO THE RIGHT THING AND LET HENNING RUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #59 Guest_push_*Posted 26 August 2009 - 04:50 AM Dont start something you cant finish Koz is in no way involed in helping Anderson win the champion ship. Tony lent him a engine late last Friday out of pure friedship. If you think Jeff is up to that dont you think He would have let Tony around him last week. Even a few weeks ago The track owner Jarvis was on the radio yelling about Babcock getting into Koz but they threw the green before they could get straighten out he wanted to give Koz his spot back. #60Posted 26 August 2009 - 05:50 AM
i wonder why nobody ask the question does this race count for the king of the 1/4 mile AT THE DRIVERS MEETING BEFORE THE RACE because it would have been that easy, that way it was clear to everyone no hassles or riffs you know where you stand,if the track doesnt cover those issues (which is thier job)you must ask questions at the meeting at least that way you have a 100 or so witnesses
