BLAH BLAH don't talk so much crap about how great you are then cry about being beat by a stock car. All you've done is cock off about how your the best. You guys run good but your mouths run faster than your truck ever will and it makes you sound like a bunch of arrogant jerks. #45Posted 01 September 2009 - 09:29 AM
yeah your rite, it should run very well. dont foget the nitro in the alky as well, the roller cams, titanium valves. Oh and were those heads 23 degree or 18 degree? #46Posted 01 September 2009 - 10:00 AM
I would say the solution is pretty simple......just don't invite the trucks back down again!
Secondly, I'm not sure what kind of rule changes are going to take place next season with our local stocks but most are saying make it more like "stock" or even "crate". I feel that just the opposite may happen. I feel that the changes will involve going to some brand or racing tires. As for the rest of the engine, the only way to make them better would be aluminum, 4 bbls, and alky. Aside from that they are pretty wide open right now and that sucks for the little guy.
What would be nice is to throttle them back a little but look at that too........there are fewer and fewer metric and even fewer big frame cars out there.
As for you Fremont trucks..........I don't know what your rules allow or don't allow but you guys have some pretty strong engines also! The trucks seem to handle really well too and that is one bigger advantage that I noticed between the trucks and the stocks. Our local stocks like to run a higher line and they bang the cushion a lot slowing them down. The trucks seem to run a lower line and seem to take the rough tracks a little better. Again, i'm not familiar to the Fremont truck rules to know what they allow on suspension. But hell.......the local stocks here allow a 4-link, z-link, j-bar and snubbers bars on theire cars.
In summary.........I'm not sure what the answer is locally and maybe the stock class is a dying breed?????????

The trucks can run the lower line around the track better because:
They have a shorter wheelbase. The shorter it is, the easier it turns. That is why every racing division has a minimum wheelbase stated in the rules. I'm not going the call out anybody by name but the person who was posting on here last week and claimes his short bed standard cab S10 has a 108inch wheelbase is flat out lying!!
And their weight is alot less than the stock cars. This lets them run the bottom faster because they have less weight to pull off the corner. The stocks need to keep the momentum up on the high side because if they slow down enough to stay on the bottom, they can't accelerate nearly as fast because of the weight.

I think the 8c car would have made the top five pretty easy but ran into trouble when someone turned the 7b car and they got together in turn 4. they looked just as fast as Anderson in the heat race but lost a right rear tire with two to go and finished 5th started 15th. What classes do they plan to run on the 20th ?
#50Posted 01 September 2009 - 11:52 PM the s-10 trucks do have 108 inch wheelbase and the dodge dakota trucks have 112 inch wheelbase. they all have stock truck frames with leaf spring rear suspention. and the weight on the trucks most are anywhere from 2900 to 3200 pounds with the driver. what makes them fast on the bottom is the tires they run are softer and work better than the street tires and the d-40 hoosiers the stocks were running at findley and the trucks run alky fuel and that help them pull off the corner faster. #51Posted 02 September 2009 - 01:07 AM
If a standard cab short bed S10 has a 108inch wheelbase, Then I apoligize...they sure don't look that long and I have owned a couple of them. I even asked a Waynesfield truck driver the other day and he said "they are definately less than my stock car which is 108inchs"

You didn't notice them running their mouths about how great they did at ATTICA Sat. day before Millstream race did you? That's because they were on a slick drivers track, and anytime the track slicks off they go 1 of 2 places, nowhere or backward, so what does that tell you. They are certainly legends in their own minds tho....... P.S. Please don't judge the entire dirt truck division by the example set by the 32h bunch, they are in their own little world, and you would certainly see that if you came to the pits at Attica or Fremont . Most guys in that division are just glad to get the opportunity to race other tracks-we just hope they haven't already burnt all those bridges. #54Posted 03 September 2009 - 01:47 AM
I race a truck and I want all the thunderstock racers to not put the rest of the truck division in the same catigory as Dan Hennig. If he wins his brother and him think they have to brag about how fast they are and if they lose they wine about being beat. Most of us truck drivers are as tired of this this as you guys are. I have been friends with Bowen and Babcock and Barney Craig for a long time and I really like racing with all the thunderstock drivers. I know most of the trucks drivers race to have fun and would to have a chance to race with you guys some more in the future. So please don't let an arrigant jackass and his brother ruin it for the rest of us. Hope to race against you again.

I think the last couple years have been fun running with the trucks 4 races and the score is 2 wins for the trucks and 2 for the stocks. I would like to see more of the trucks show up and race we need more then 4-5 trucks you guys need to get around 10 to 15 to show up on these races. That would make the field have around 30 total STRUCKS and they might just start running more shows with the two classes combined. Heck maybe the Big-E could put you guys in a few shows.

Quit readind into the post, I said its fun running with the trucks and would like to do it more. I just would like to see more trucks show up to race on these shows.
