best way to get started racing?

What is the most economical way to get started racing in Ohio dirt tracks? I've always wanted to and would like to get my 4 yr old son involved someday.

the best way i know is gocarts.you learn all the basics. race prep. maintenence the move to micro if it is open wheel or when 16 go to hobbie stock. reg stock has turned to a pro category. Carts cost 5to10th.a year micro engines are 6500. to be competitive.hobby stocks are about 5to8th.ayear but stocks cost 20to30th.per year.

Yeah go-karts are the best way to get started racing!

my advice is: do not start unless you have the money to do it. been there done that.

How about the "compact stock" at Deerfield? Looks kinda fun to me w/o a whole lot of money invested.
