would a 94 camaro be a good choice for a stock?

Stocks must have 108inch wheelbase. I think that camaro has 102 inches. Get out your tapemeasure

dont know about rear susp... probably a coil ....theres alot of people tat would float to either but probably a coil....im just tryin to turn my 94 camaro into a dirt bomber for next year to get some experience....just trying tofind out how much trouble its gonna be to gut it and have someone weld in a roll cage

I don't know if I would even build a stock. The only place right now you can run is Lima and Eldora. Getting to be less at Eldora. It may be better to buy a mod frame and go from there, motor prices these days is about the same accept for a 4bbl and aluminum heads, etc. Some of the stocks can probably out run some of the mods even with a 2bbl and race gas, and street tires.

well the way things are starting to look, its gonna be a little bit more cost to build anything at this point. i might be safer and just wait until someone gets out of the buisness or can no longer afford it unfortunatly, and wants to get rid of one.

good idea, the 21 stock is a good car, and a decent price. and the 30r from lima is on here somewhere.

yea ive already inquired about them...the 21 is over priced and the 30 r is just ...not the right price either so when i find one thats right ill get it....you have to remember im just starting so im not trying to pay tons of cash and watch it go down the drain because of inexperience. rather buy the right priced to get started than go bankrupt before i get it on the track. because of unknown expenses

No offense but, I don't think you know what you're getting into. Neither of those cars are over priced, both are a fraction of what they would cost to build. If you want into a race ready car for under $4500, it's going to be TOUGH.

For a first time racer its gonna cost you a little bit of money just to try and keep out of their way. The best way for you to go being a first time guy giving it a try. Why dont you look into racing a truck. Thats the cheaper way to go you can pick one up pretty cheap.

i understand dirtracer that they might be worth it in what it cost to build...but on the other hand those cars are not worth it to me. there have been a few cars that i have seen that are just as good for 3000 but wasnt the right make.. i am not a ford fan. toooooooo many problems. anyways on the truck situation . even though stocks have only a couple places to race around here the trucks are not that much better! and the trucks that a few people have shown me puts the price of them bout 500 to 1000 under a budget of a stock....but thats only the costs i have seen not saying there arent any cheaper. ill just wait a few months, see if i can make it on the stock or modified team at unoh and go from there.

What are you looking to spend? I actually had less than 1,000 race ready in my first one....you do get what you pay for, and that was 13 years ago.

Really diesel, these folks are not trying to talk you out of it. Just be real about it. If you can get one already built w/or wo the motor you are gonna save money, and a lot of work. The cars that were mentioned above have the good stuff and are competitive. The 21 will go toe to toe with most cars. Believe them when they say it ain't cheap. race gas alone is 6.50 to 8.00 a gallon. Depending how you buy it. A decent street tire is 100.00 or more. So if you can get it for 4500, you better get it. He's got lots of extra stuff too. Doc

I believe you guys. I understand it isnt cheap. thats my whole point on tryin to buy one for the right price that is good enough to at least run with a group instead of last place, but at the same time not worry about dumping tons of money into it. but trust me i understand im not gonna jump into this thing not knowing the cost

I definitely get your point, and understand where you're at. $4500 for a competitive car in this class is a bargain though. Unless you have a bunch of parts already, fabrication tools and skills at your disposal, any less than that would be very hard to do anything but battle at the back of the pack. I've tried getting away doing it cheaper, it doesn't work in that class. I finally spent 5 figures on an engine, but decided if I am spending that kind of dough, it's going in a sprint car. Definitely try to get on with a team to see the in's and out's, and pay attention to what's being spent.
