A lot of guys lost right rears last night due to the roughness of the track. Hope they have the track in better shape for the Butler memorial.

story by SkinnyKennysPhotos 7/15/06 Waynesfield, Ohio Mike Dunlap grabbed the lead with his red #9 sprint car as the feature began at Waynesfield Motorsports Park on Saturday night July 15th.The yellow #9n of Jon Nelson soon worked his way into 2nd spot and closed behind the leader. With a caution flag slowing the field on lap 18, all eyes were on the leaders. As the racing resumed, Nelson looked for an opening. Dunlap held the lead as the cars passed the waving white flag but Nelson made his move as the lead cars entered turn one. The racers exited turn two side by side but Nelson seemed to get a better drive off the corner. Nelson entered turn three high as Dunlap dove low. As the checkered flags showed, Nelson pulled to a two car length lead to steal the victory. This was Jon Nelson's 1st win in his 10 year racing career. Mike Dunlap was 2nd and Steve Simon finished 3rd. The feature event for the stock cars looked at though #42 Tim Rostorfer would earn his 2nd victory of the year at Waynesfield. Rostorfer held a half a straight away lead as the white flag signaled one lap to go. As Rostorfer went around turns 1 and 2, his right rear tire blew! The white #77 of Tim Bowen was able to take advantage and move into the lead. Bowen lead the last 1/2 lap to earn his 1st victory at Waynesfield Motorsports Park. #21 Dave Hollon finished 2nd while Tim Rostorfer held on for 3rd place. The modified race saw #2b Darryl Banks earn another win at Waynesfield. Banks was able to work the high side of the track to perfection as #13 Chris Ullery and #16 Brad Powley put on a heck of a battle for 2nd. As the race came to an end, Ullery took one shot at Banks for the lead. Banks was able to hold him off for another win. Ullery finished 2nd with Brad Powley in 3rd. Tim Viles got the front row starting spot with his #18 mini-sprint and quickly pulled away from the pack to a huge lead. The race went caution free as Viles toasted the rest of the field. #4 Chris Smalley finished 2nd with #311 Aaron Moloney in 3rd. The truck race turned out to be somewhat of a marathon as many yellow flags waved. #4f Scott Fisher held the lead through the first part of the race but #3 Dan Kelly worked his way up from his 5th starting spot. At the midway point of the race Dan Kelly took the lead from Fisher with 3 time winner Dyllan Burkheimer coming along. Burkheimer never quite could get a solid run on Kelly for the lead and ended up behind him in 2nd. Scott Fisher was 3rd as Kelly earned his 1st win of the year at Waynesfield. The compact race saw #47 Levi Motter get his 1st win of the year at Waynesfield. #54f Bob Faulder edged #31 Jeff Kimes at the finish line for 2nd place. Saturday July 22nd will feature the 2nd annual J.R. Butler Memorial Race for stock cars paying $1000 to the winner. Last years winner Weasal Phlipot is sure to be there to defend his title. There will be NO SPRINTS this week! See you at the races.
