The King of the Concrete will take place at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. This event is unsanctioned but will be using WKA Engine Rules and AMB Timing and Scoring. The current format allows for all classes to use two lap qualifying with the top ten qualifiers earning a starting spot for the feature event. The remaining four spots in each class (if needed) will earn a spot through consi’s. The King of the Concrete will race 25 laps, take a 10 minute pit stop, and complete the remaining 50 lap race. You can not change tires between the two segments. You must finish the race with the tires and wheels that you started the first segment. During the pit stop you can change anything on the kart with the exception of the driver, engine, kart chassis, tires, and wheels. Friday December 18th will be an open and controlled practice day from 6pm-9pm. Saturday December 19th will be race day with 16 classes running including the King of the Concrete, Stock Lite, Stock Medium and Stock Heavy. Gates will open at 8am with practice beginning at 9am. There will be additional information about this event released weekly leading up to the event. For more information about the 8th Annual King of the Concrete log onto the website www.4cycle.com or www.p-rphotos.com. The event flyer with the pre-entry forms will be available in the next couple of weeks and will be available to download from the www.greensborocoliseum.com website. There will be no charge for fuel. Fuel will be provided to the racers. Seat height will be a non tech item. To be consistent with other indoor events, we will follow the following additional safety requirements. Weights must be bolted to the chassis or seat. The nerf bars are considered part of the chassis. For weights on the seat, you must use fender washers (large washers) under the bolt head. All weight bolts must be double nutted or safety wired. Do not attach weights to bodywork. Header bolts must be safety wired. Safety is the overriding issue. If the Race Director feels your weights are not safely attached, you will have to change them to suit him. For additional information about the event or technical questions please contact Andy Harris at (252) 813-9988. For companies or individuals interested in sponsorship opportunities for this event please contact Andy Harris at (252) 813-9988
