#2Posted 28 December 2009 - 12:55 AM This is probly one of the dumbest topics in a long time. First off Henry won a Championship 1st year in a late model. Cant do much better. #3Posted 28 December 2009 - 06:38 PM
Please don't take this wrong, because this is in no way knocking Jon, but yes, Jeff could do better. With Jeff's experience and the traveling he's done the last couple years, it could spell not only ALMS wins, but possibly BIG show wins. It all boils down to whether or not the team is able to gel as quickly with Jeff as they did with Jon.
Great s/n by the way, farva. One of the most hilarious movies I've ever seen!

To me i dont really care for this post, it was not meant to be in a bad way but these are two very talented young men who both deserve for the best to happen for them. Its not like comparing apples to oranges , But these are two very big shining apples that some one needs to pick either one of them for a bright future ahead. Best of luck to both of them and if Jeff doesnt do as well as Jon does, it doesnt change my mind on either one of them. Neither one of them needs to prove any thing to any one except to themselfs and what ever the future brings them. Good luck Jeff and Jon.

just stating a fact.
Head to head, jon has the better record. Last year Jon passed babcock at Lima and won it after not racing a mod for half a year.
And i think Jon is the better driver because hes been all over. people say that Jeff travels a lot, look at Jons schedule. Florida, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Canada, North Carolina, etc. and about 1/5th of the time he pulls double duty.

You might want to rethink your "fact". Jon and Jeff's results are readily available on both of their websites, and I think the stats tell a much different story. Also, Jeff pulled double duty about 1/5 of his races as well, albeit in a stock car. With that said, both are awesome drivers and deserve a chance to shine on a higher level. #8Posted 30 December 2009 - 11:50 AM I said Head to Head, not all races. and besides you cant compare mod/stock wins to late model wins, because your on a whole new level in a late. And thats just my opinion, so you have yours. Edited by SP Motorsports, 30 December 2009 - 11:51 AM. #9Posted 30 December 2009 - 01:35 PM
You're right you can't compare late model to stock car, so why bring up either one? You said 'head to head', which to me means the modified, in which Jeff did much better than Jon in the races that they both raced in aka "Head to Head". That's no opinion, that's fact. #10Posted 30 December 2009 - 07:50 PM
On the other hand, you can't just discount the stock car wins either. Go ask ANY of the stock drivers how easy it is to win. And no, they aren't two seconds slower than the waynesfield trucks. #12Posted 02 January 2010 - 11:27 AM i should have clarified even more. i mean the season before this past when they both raced mods full time. Henry dominated that year. and the reason he didnt this past year is because he ran the late full time and didnt get to spend a lot of time around the mod or in the mod. and yes you cant take the stock wins away, im just saying that late models are higher up on the chain so therefore they are earned harder. I respect both drivers, im just saying Jon would be the better driver. Last year he made some rookie mistakes in a late model, but he was competing against the World of Outlaws, Lucas Oil, and other very talented drivers. #13Posted 02 January 2010 - 08:21 PM
I dont think you can even compare the 2. For one Jon jumped into a latemodel and took off. Jeff i have never seen any one in the first time at lima in a sprint car put it right up on the wall and looked like a veteran With only a few laps at findlay before coming to lima. Ive been around since 1962 and have never watched any one go that quick put it up on the wall and smooth. You have some guys who have been running for yrs and wont put it up on the wall. And Jon the proof is in his season. There is nothing to compare between the 2 just a couple of young talented fellows.

Your right Skip. It would be like having a Poll of whos the better driver. Richard Petty, AJ Foyt.Dale Earnhart sr, Jimmy Johnson, Mel Kenyon, Rich Vogler. All great drivers but these Polls come down to a popularity contest. Good luck Jeff and Jon.
