This is a plea to the track officials for 2007. I have a very low budget team but yet I feel that I have a lot of time and money invested in the trucks. I hope that we all can find out soon exactly what the plans are for this coming season very soon. It is now the middle of January and normally I would have my truck almost done by now but since there is a possibility of us not even running, I have my truck still sitting on the trailer until I find out a clear cut vision for the season. This late notice is going to cause several problems but here are two important problems: #1 it will make it very hard to secure sponsors for us in the truck division since Waynesfield is the only full time track that we can run at. #2 it will make it really hard for those of us that have been holding out to get our trucks finished in time for the season. I planned on putting a new body on but heck I might have to run the same old banged up body if we wait much longer. If you could at least tell us whether we'll be running more than 75% of the schedule that would help greatly in securing sponsors. This is just my opinion also.....i think we should run all the classes that we ran last year and just manage the time a little closer. Obviously the night that you will have late models then there will have to be a limited class scheduled but I know we can all run a nice value oriented show for the fans. i know that you want to have the shows over before 10:00 but there aren't many places that this happens and most of them only run three classes. What I'm trying to say is that one of the things that people love about Waynesfield to begin with....the number of different classes. For example: look at Funfest in Lawrenceburg, Indiana....they have about 12 classes run the entire weekend and look at their turnout....people like variety but yet they want to see the occasional "big time" class or show. Thanks [This message has been edited by OGRE (edited 01-16-2007).] [This message has been edited by OGRE (edited 01-16-2007).]

even if they dont have all the plans together yet. they at least could let you guys know as to what class,s they will run. stocks ,sprints and stocks at least have other local places to run. but the others dont.would be nice if a place like lima would maybe pick up one of the low budget class,s like mini sprints or trucks and use them as a fill in once in a while.if waynesfield does drop one of them. I would also like to see what they are going to do, wanting to be done by 10:00 just seems to me like they should back out and let someone else take it that wants to see racing at Waynesfield, sounds like there is more to the issue if they want done by 10:00. As one of the many people that are trying to save the mini sprint class, we approached Limaland and they are not willing to put us on for 2007.

In my opinion it is a mistake to try to get the racing over by 10. Another track I know of cut out part of the weekly program and racing was done early (9:30 or 10:00) Fans were angry at paying to get in and only seeing a few hours of racing. They wanted their money's worth. Who's the early time really for anyway? The track crew. The fans and racers havent complained.

Ok I don't know how official this is, well actually just a rumor I heard. I hear they are planning on running Sprints, Modifieds, Trucks and Stocks. Again that is not official just what I heard at the shop.

If this rumor is true, I just hope that the people that we have talked to that have told us if they eliminate certainn classes they will also not run waytnesfield and if they want to be done by 10:00 I'm sure with the low car count they will. They sure aren't looking to fill the stands if they want out early.

This 10:00 thing that I brought up was never really stated by anyone fromt he track officially.....it's just one of the rumors that was floating around. I do know (because Greg actually said this in a drivers meeting) that the village of Waynesfield had asked Greg if there was anyway he could end his shows by midnight. That is when he put the timelimits on the races. He isn't obligated at all to comply with the village of Waynesfield because he is outside the limits, but he is a local businessman and he cooperated just to be a nice neighbor. I still think that if we ran all the classes we could still get done plenty before 12:00. There was way too much time wasted trying to get people lined up during cautions. If we sped up the caution periods a little then we could run much smoother. I think the use of two dry erase boards (one on the front stretch and one on the back stetch) would work out great. We also need to eliminate the guys stopping on the track because they don't agree with the order.....send them to the tail if they stop to complain. If you need something ripped off your car then you need to do it yourself in the infield.....we shouldn't hold up a race because a car wants their nose piece ripped off. It just takes better time management of the races themselves....Waynesfield was just getting started so there is much room for improvement and the best advice normally comes from us racers. I don't want to see any classes drop.....but I don't pay the bills for the track either....i just pay the bills for my trucks! let's just hope we get an official word soon.

you know dan, they still have a web site all they have to do is say something, just let the people know a little bit of what is going on, just say they are working on things and will let the drivers and owners know something as soon as possible. i think they know what class,s they are gonna run. but maybe they are having other problems with getting backing and the money to do what needs to be done.who knows but just a simple statement on the web site might let people know that things are in the works.im a #1 sprint fan but it was the other class,s that got the track going, and mini sprints were a part of it on the kart track. your right there a lot a things that would speed things up. as far as a purse, the trucks and compac,s would proably run for a little bit of nothing just to have a place to run, without taking to much of the gate away from the others, but the lower class,s do bring in a lot a fans and family. just hope no feelings get hurt over it.

Whoooooooh skip. I didn't say anything about running for less money...lol Seriously, I've always said that about their website......it's the cheapest but most effective advertisement they have available. They need to put someone in charge of it that will make it look really nice but kept up to date weekly. A variety of pictures would be nice and a points tally and possibly rules and maybe even a schedule....it's pretty simple. I wish they would utilize it much more effectivly!!

As for time during yellows if you guys would like to go up and score cars come up your more than welcome, it seems the drivers and spectators can score better,if the drivers would listen to the track offical and go to the position they were told too things would go faster as for the board we used that and it didnt work either. So wait to see what is going to happen, there is alot going on to finalize things to make a successful season.

you know what i mean dan , i wouldnt expect you guys to run for nothing, you have to admit most guys at this level like you have said before they do it for the fun and love of it. you have to realise to jb45 there are a lot a guys in limbo as to finalize what their plans will be as to either unload their cars or start working on them.there are proably some people out there that would like to put a program together and build a car but why put something together if things are still up in the air as to what will run and what wont.just a simple post on a web site as to what will run as far as class,s. i think im done with it i really have no imput on amy of this but how good the hot dogs are. good luck dan hope you get a chance to race your truck. Ok...JB45 (or Deb), I never said anything about the scoring if you re-read my post. I said that guys need to quit bickering about where they are put or stopping on the track and just get into position. I also beg to differ with you on the dry erase board...it works. I offer you the same challenge...try getting into one of these cars and understanding the 30 different hand signals that each track official trys to give you in the dark. Secondly, I know that is one of the problems also....there are at most you and maybe two others if you're lucky to score...that's not enough. I know scoring is tough. The problems is that one person makes a call and then the call gets overturned maybe a lap later then we have to set the lineup back up again. People have scanners so we do listen to what's being said on the radios when we're not on the track. Don't get me wrong.....in no way am I bashing anyone at all....I'm just offering suggestions to help out...but if they're not well taken then fine I'll not offer them anymore. I want to race at Waynesfield and I like the people that run the track....don't you understand that when I say this over and over. I Like Waynesfield, but let's look to improve things each year....let's start just by telling us if we're going to run...not a schedule, just a word on who's running. Deb, I hope I didn't earn the tail now by suggesting these comments to you .....lol You're alright, I know it's tough up there! Skip, I knew what you menat. I was just kidding you. Three scorers should be plenty. Eldora has three for even the World 100. That's ususlly over 200 cars with 3 scorers. You just have to be orginized to be able to run the show with that many classes. There are good points brought up. Don't stop on the track for repairs. That is also one of my per peeves for Limaland. If someone has repairs to be completed, send them to the pits. The pits is the place for repairs to be made, not the track. Use the chalk boards for the line ups. If they do not go where they belong, I believe the flagman has a black flag. If they do not go to the pits after the black flag, the scorer does not have to score them. This is from someone that has been going to the races for over 45 years and has worked at several tracks in the area.

Hey Chris that's fine...everyone is entitled to their opinion and by the way, i like your dad too! He does a good job on the backstretch! It's just hard to see the people on the front stretch when they signal to you but we'll manage. And I totally agree....if someone doesn't listen to the track officials then black flag them. I don't think anyone should stop on the track for repairs, but they can't go to the pits at Waynesfield because there is no re-entry. It's just the little things that would help to speed the show up...there's nothing big wrong with the track....just some minor improvements.

Of the 3 tracks I race at only Eldora has a schedule out, so far I plan on being at 12 or possibly 13 if I get invited to the Prelude race. Now when Limaland and Waynesfield get their schedules organized then I can get my schedule organized LOL. I too love Waynesfield, it is a fun place to race and I look forward to racing there in 2007 IF the promoters put the stocks on the program.
