185 views and nobody knows what the payout is!!!!! No wonder there is only 10 minisprints showing up. Isn't this a standard item for the class? Waynesfield, where is the answer to this question.

Contact info is and has always been listed on our website, but here it is so you can contact Dean or Jane directly instead of on a message board. If I had the answer for you, I would give it, but I don't get involved with the financial end of it at all. Track Phone: 419-568-3201 Cell: 419-306-1499 dmiracleirs@aol.com

You wouldn't get a answer from Eldora unless you called or emailed them. Why should this track be any different.

last year was 350 to win and about 200, 125, 100 and on down with 50 to start. car count was only about 15.... that being said when they had the minisprint meeting back in the fall they committed to putting the minis on the schedule several more times this year and not dropping races if car count is low but instead the purse was going down. last week we WON and only got $200....only had 10 or 11 cars though??? thats a little hard to swallow but i guess we knew going in that no cars means crappy payout!! i plan to talk with dean this weekend and get a better idea of what car count it takes to alteast get back up to last years payout or even better than last year with a high car count (like mid 20's) I want the class to survive and certainly grow... i know it takes money to get cars... any idea on how to get cars and what kind of money does it take to get em? would $500 bring cars???? im sure dean is reading so any suggestions are welcome im sure mike dobie

How many people were at that meeting? I hope more than 10 or 11. I thought alot of guys moved up to 1000s the last few years and that is why car count fell. Now you guys voted to go up to 1000s and the count falls more. I'm confused. Do you have any ideas to increase the car count?

A lot of guys were at Lawrenceburg this past weekend...thats a major factor for a low car count.

And itd help to advertise. A lot of the late model guys this past weekend didnt know about Waynesfields late model show until Eldoras late model show(the night before waynesfield)...in my opinion that isnt good advertisement being that most of the guys that were at Eldora live in Ohio...

Poor scheduling is the biggest reason. You have most of your races scheduled when AMSA is at laweranceburg or KC and you don't run Mini sprints when Amsa has no race scheduled. We will run at Waynesfeild when we have no Amsa race.

I have to agree with Austin and tnr22 !!!! Advertising would help alot. If it were not for hearsay I would not have even known Waynesfield had a track and that was in it's 2nd or 3rd year of existence that I heard about it, and I am only 12 miles down the road?
(That Was Not the current promoters fault) Radio slots, newspaper ads local and/or regional television commercials are the best way to "Get The Word Out". The promoter could also visit other tracks and ask them to talk to him over the intercom system to help promote the track, that might help?

As far as the 1000's, they do have a loyal following already at other tracks, such as K.C. and Lawrenceburg.
I used to be critical of Waynesfield, but I really would like to see it succeed, it is close for me and the racing they do have is pretty Damn Good Close Racing.

Now with that all said and said on Racestud Fire away at me, but really I would only like to see WMP become a success!
It seems to need an atmosphere right now that it just don't have, cannot explain it, I've just been going so long that I can just Feel it, and I don't feel it at the Field, at least not yet?

The track has been there for at least 6 yrs. You cant tell me that race fans dont know it is there. A lot of us last yr passed out flyers in some places. Plus i have seen some spots on the tv for waynesfield. Dean has got on here and said any questions and posted his number. I could see some one in the first couple of yrs not knowing about the race track. Im like Kenny how many were at the meeting. I would have to say if you were at the meeting that would of been the place to ask.But if you didnt dont blame you for asking on here no harm no foul. By the minis not showing up they might feel the effects later on. I know Dean a yr ago said if he dont get enought he will pull the plug. Dont want to see any class get cut The race that Dobie and Daugherty put on last week could stand tall right beside any sprint or latemodel race they put on one heck of a show. Its hard for a track just starting out to try and compete with all the other close by tracks that run on sat night. The non wing shows are getting a good draw, the 360,s will as pull in some fans. Plus the mods have been getting more and more. Then the truck class is growing every yr and pulling in some fans, its a cheap form of racing to get into. Any one that doesnt come out is just losing out on some good racing, and the ones who are not showing up might be the ones that causes a class to be cut. The cold right now is hurting every track, heard attica had a small crowd last friday night. As for last sat and sunday at WRP that was one cold, I wont say it. I know of some who said it was just to cold. The class that has a good car count and puts on a good show will be the ones that survive. Im like racechaser my 2 cents worth that could of been towards a hotdog!!

i have to agree with an earlier post about the racing at wrp... i honestly dont think a race fan can go anywhere close to here and watch better racing... almost every feature isnt decided until the final lap or two.... as far as advertising goes its hard to spend the thousands of dollars it takes to do tv or radio. our business has been in the lima area for 45 years and we spend over 40,000 a year on advertising and still have customers every day that say "i didnt even know you were here" ?? it would be different if tracks werent struggling to even keep the doors open. as far as the minisprint payout goes, i spoke with dean earlier today and what they are going to do is guarantee last years payout for the next 4 races which was very close to the following (im sure about the top 4 spots and 10-20... i may be a little off on 5-9) 1- 350 2- 250 3- 150 4- 100 5- 90 6- 80 7- 70 8- 60 9th-20th $50 Dean also said that if the car count grows back over 20 where it was a couple years ago he has no problem bumping 1st place up to $500 hopefully this will help the car count..

Just as pcpower81 has said you can advertise the heck out of the place and still get some that has never heard about the place. Honestly I think it's just like Eldora and Limaland, you have to build a tradition and traditions take time. This place is still the youngest track around and maybe even in Ohio. We have done several things to help promote the place just as mentioned. We've pounded the pavement placing flyers in laundry mats and convenience stores all over west central ohio. We've been to other tracks to talk about the place, we've had TV ads and we've had radio ads. Our best advertisement is you the racer. We will continue to do everything that we've done in the past to draw attention but we really need you the racer to help draw in not only cars but fans. The more fans and racers we draw in the more purse's grow. I know some will say it's the promotoer's job to promote and beleive me Dean is promoting. Why do you think he took on East Bay this past spring? He was gettign the workd out to all of the Midwest racers that WRP is there and alive. He''s really trying guys and gals but I really think it will take more than just him. I'm begging all of you to keep spreading the good word and we thank all of you that support us now. I still look for a very exciting year ahead and you're right......the racing at WRP is exciting to the last lap!!!! Thank You =)

CARS WILL COME TO WAYNESFIELD TO RACE. JUST WAIT UNTIL EVERYONES THAT RUNS AMSA IS TIRED OF RUNNING AGAINST BIG BORE MOTORS. GIVE IT A FEW WEEKS, AND THEY WILL COME. I KNOW OF SEVERAL CARS JUST NOT READY TO RACE YET DO TO PARTS PROBLEMS.

Oh really? The motors you sell to those guys? As I recall when I won the last 1000cc race at Waynesfield (2008,) the "tech guy" didn't know how to check the bore and stroke on a 1000cc engine.

I like Waynesfield, but the tracks the AMSA run have them beat in every category. Better facilities, better atmosphere, and most importantly, better payout. Why would we drive an extra half hour to Waynesfield, when we can go to Lawrenceburg and get a better payout, and not to mention race at probably the premier track in the Midwest. Same deal with KC, better payout, and it is 15 minutes down the road, vs. 2.5 hours to Waynesfield. Don't get me wrong, we'll come to the Field when we don't have an AMSA race or no close MMSA races, but until you can offer a purse better than the AMSA, you're not going to draw cars from there.

I really wish Waynesfield would have worked with the mini sprint schedule a little more. Scheduling against races at Lawrenceburg and KC are not helping either place, and is going to hurt the car count at both tracks. An example would be the weekend of the 17th. AMSA race at Lawrenceburg, yet Waynesfield schedules the mini-sprints the same night, yet they had a race the 18th on Sunday that would have been great for both places. Probably would have been 30+ cars at Lburg and 20 at Waynesfield on Sunday.

Isn't it a little hard for Waynesfield to schedule against Lawrenceburg and KC when WRP had their schedule out before the other 2? I'm just sayin...

Hey Dan talk about Dean not promoting , Remeber all the stuff he was talking about at the meeting ? He has gone to one of the biggest factorys around town and worked out a deal for a Proctor and Gamble night at waynesfield. I would have to say that Dean is going out of his way to do what he can. This is a young track that has to try and compete with some tracks that have been around for yrs and have a big fan base that has supported them. As far as the racing you see at the track i would have to say that the racing is like a track that has been around for several yrs.
