Montpelier will be racing this FRIDAY instead of Saturday with non-wing sprints of the American Sprint Car Tour, full midgets of the American Midget Car Tour, and UMP Modifieds. Gates open at the regular time and racing starts at 7. Admission is $15 for ages 13 and up, 12 and under are free. It's going to be very interesting to see non-wing sprint cars and midgets back at Montpelier. $600 to win, $60 to start for the modifieds.

How's the weather looking over there for tonight Hoosier? 6/410

Clear and sunny right now. The forecast calls for a 30% chance of rain this afternoon but it is scattered. The radar shows most of the rain breaking up but heat in the afternoon could cause them to reform. Might have to dodge some storms but I think they will get it in.

Tim Cornett, #35 told me they canceled right before the mod A, another make-up feature for everybody.

Yeah they shortened the sprint feature to try to get them all in and didn't quite make it. If the sprints had actually lined up when they were called they might have got all the races in. The first sprint was pushed off 30 minutes after the call to line up was made. They also did not help run the track in at the start of the night, which delayed the start by 30 minutes. The ASCT didn't do a very good job of running their portion of the show to help get it in ahead of the rains. The crowd was ok, but not what I was expecting, and the car count in the sprints sucked with only 13. If it was an unsanctioned race they probably would have had a lot more cars. This just proves to me that Montpelier needs to bring back the late models. I think the make up feature for the mods will be this Saturday.
