You obviously know -zero- about racing and it shows more and more with every post. You're speaking common sense, that it takes time to learn....no shit. Some things people should know how to do before ever getting in a car. Rookie mistakes are one thing, slidejobbing the leader is another. It's dumb-assery and this stuff should be common sense before they get into a car. I'm sure the coaches there do a fine job, and hope they teach this in class.

I think the classes/cars are an EXCELLENT idea that should continue for sure. But you're failing to see the other side of the coin when guys put full-time job hours, and full time job income into their race cars to get torn up by someone being a DUMB ASS with unlimited funds behind them. When I had stock cars last, I remember going by the stacker trailer....yup I was jealous for sure. Three or four new beadlock wheels and new tires all laying on the ramp door thinking....man I wish I had all that. If the doofus doesn't respect the equipment he's driving, you can't expect them to respect anyone else's. I'm not a big fighter, but had -I- been leading a race and got tore up by a lap car doing something as stupid, I hope he can fight better than he can race.

maybe its possible that the unoh driver wasnt intentionally trying to make the other driver lose but infact just trying to get his car under control...cuz im sure he hasnt driven the car before that race. actually i KNOW the driver didnt intentionally do it!

Everyone has to start somewhere! If you have enough money to build cars and put people in them, feel free to do so! I'm sure all the veteran drivers out there should know better to try and race with the rookies too hard. You guys should be thankful you have enough cars to fill a complete show!

Maybe im going way over my head but if these drivers are running "in their first races" then why would UNOH just stick them out on the track? You would think they would be practicing...Waynesfield has test and tunes every tuesday...use them! The stock car count is dwindling down...and if you havent noticed, cars that used to run at limaland are now running elsewhere(Eldora) instead. Somethings not right there.

i want to start by saying i think the school has done a great job with the track and all the coaches associated with the program are good guys. i myself have been torn up up by a college car this yr but we all started somewhere when we started racing. i think the kids should get more than a 2 wk rotation like maybe a 4 wk rotation and this may help the accidents.with only 2 wks in the car they may be trying way to hard to impress when they should be getting seat time. the first couple of times they should start on the rear of their heat and get some laps. practice is a lot different than being out there with 8 or even 20 other cars. the first time i ever ran a modified and a stock car i started on the tail of my heat the first couple of times because i didn't want to tear up my equipment or anyone else's. racing takes patience, common sense and a well handling race car. I'm not bashing the kid for Friday night but the fact remains he made a poor decision.he had already lost control earlier in the race which is why he was back there in the first place. whether he was trying to get his car under control or what when the leaders approached he should've held his line drove at a speed he could control his car and out of respect let them pass. maybe someday he will be in the same position as Anderson and a lapped driver will give him the some respect. if i could give any advice to a new driver that would be respect your equipment as well as everyone else's i don't care if your first or last we all work a lot of hours on our cars as well as spend money, take what your car will give you don't drive over your head, sometimes you have to slow down to be fast and most of all use your head. if everyone wants the drivers to practice then lets open the track one night a wk charge an entry fee and let everyone practice because there are others out there who need and want laps as well. we don't need all the bashing on here we as racers all started somewhere. Jon Henry,Anderson and Babcock didn't set the world on fire when they started so lets cut everyone some slack its not as easy as it looks.

Nice to see you posting racer71, Its also nice to see someone putting it in the right words with out trashing a driver. Keep up the good job your looking good. The schools drivers for the last few years have been a respectfull bunch of students. Ive seen some in other classes just starting out and they were a lot worse than these.

I will keep my comments short, because racer71 said it all. Patience, Common Sense and a Well handling Race Car, These are the keys to our sport! I think the kid that was making alot of mistakes was simply Not using enough common sense last Friday and Yes trying to impress at the same time without enough Seat Time. I know the Instructors are well qualified, but you have to keep in mind, the Racer is alone in the car come race time and he makes his own decisions. I know how tough it is out there, and the greatest advice I ever got was in the pit before I ever unloaded for the first time, from someone who had done it for many years, all he said to me was use your head/not your foot and it will come to you. He was right and all that was, was some common sense. I learned very quickly to run my own line and pay attention to where I was running on the race track and to be aware of cars that are faster than you and to Respect them, because in time I may need their Respect! Because of that it did come to me in a short time and I even tasted alittle success, but most of all I did gain my competitors respect and that is very Important as well. Some of you had some very good Ideas, like a test-n-tune at Lima, this would help EVERYONE! Electing to start at the rear would help the less experienced driver at least a few times. And Yes sometimes you do have to slow a bit to be Fast ;) However I will say that I Do Not believe that the College drivers or the economy are the ones killing the car counts in the Stocks, The Stocks are alive and well at some other tracks - and I will just leave it at that

The obvious reason racestud has went south! (can't use the real word) I guess we dont live in a country where we can ACTUALLY voice opinion! Really makes me wonder what the $%@# I served my country for! I bet $%@# is profanity and this post will be deleted and i will be launched from the racestud kingdom. JMO

I personally agree with the Terminator JMO. There are kids that get on here and they are gonna think its ok for them to sware anytime they want. embarrassing their folks and themselves. I am 59 years old and I don't need to sware at you to tell you you are wrong or have a difference of opinion. It only causes more anger and name calling. Think about what you say, you'll go a lot further in life and a lot further on this forum. :-(
