'Sprints Gone Wild' this Saturday at Waynesfield.

July 19, 2010
WAYNESFIELD, Ohio

On any typical Saturday night at Waynesfield Raceway Park, racefans can expect to see a class of Sprint Cars in action on the 1/3 mile clay oval. Thanks to Ray Marshall of Buckeye Machine Fabricators Incorporated in Forest, Ohio, Saturday July 24th is going to be a special night for fans as there will now be TWO classes of sprint cars on the schedule with the addition of the Ohio Cycleworx 360 Sprints to the already great racing program including the Lee's Hydraulics Non Wing Sprint Cars, Post Agri-Service UMP Modifieds, and JR and Sons Service Center Compacts.

Fans can expect to see some of the best winged 360 drivers in the area including “Mr. Excitement” Tim Allison, “The Ohio Hammer” Luke Hall, JR Stewart, Mike Dussel, and others as they do battle at WRP on the same night as the non-wing cars make their last appearance before the 2nd Annual Jack Hewitt Classic on August 7th. “The Flyin' Buckeye” Matt Westfall leads the Lee's Hydraulics Non Wing Sprint Car Points standings in 2010 having won every feature event except for one. Several drivers are chomping at the bit to end Westfall's winning streak, such as Landon Simon, Kyle Simon, Todd Keen and others. Can anyone put a stop to Westfall's domination? Come out this Saturday night July 24th to see “Sprints Gone Wild” to find out!

Pit gates open at 4 pm, Grandstand gates at 5pm. Hot laps at 6:15, Racing at 7PM.

Jack Hewitt informed us today that his good friend "Bounce" Ryder will be piloting a sprint car under the Fenner racing banner this Saturday. Dr. Ryder works extensively with the "Pride of the Southland" Marching Band, and conducts the University of Tennessee Symphonic Band. It will be interesting to see how Bounce "conducts" himself this Saturday around the highbanks of Waynesfield Raceway Park.

Hannagan won the 360 wing feature and then the rain came. Hannagan, Stewart, Allison, Horton I believe were the top 4 finishers.

Bounce should have been bounced from the track after a couple laps.He had no business being out there.I think he got lapped twice in 5 laps during the a main.

The leaders where going into turn three and he wasn't to the flag yet. I thought for sure he would get run over. Never did though

I can think of a few other guys that do the same thing... But in his defense, hes out there living the dream and having fun while getting seat time to improve. id rather him take it easy than go all out of control and possibly wreck/injure someone.

he could have easily wrecked or injured someone. he was going a whole 20 mph right in the middle of the track. wasnt leaving any room hardly for the leaders to go around.

i understand it was his first time but if it was my first time i would at least give it some gas on the straightaways lol

Yea he better stick to his day job! I'll give him 30 mph in the straightaway, but not a penny more? Never once heard the Gas Mashed? Could have caused a serious accident, but Thank God it didn't happen. He got in the way of the leaders on several occasions, and when I say several, that is exactly what I mean! Bet he got lapped 4-6 times, and that might just be generous after talking to the guys up front? Good Show though, wished the rains would have held off, Track was Excellent B)

gotcha my bad guys...i wasnt there. i just figured that he was at least gassing it down the straightaways and keeping it slow through the corners(as most beginners do). but now that i realize he was doing a whopping 20 mph now i see where you guys are coming from. especially when the sprints are probably going about 90-100 at least at the end of the straights(depending on track conditions)

This is just a response to your legit concerns. During the A-Main I did inform the 34b (Bounce) to stay low and out of traffic on the raceceiver. He was getting lapped about every two laps and wasn't holding the bottom so I got on raceceiver and informed him to pull to the infield......and he did. It was great that he was able to live out a dream but we also need to keep the other drivers safety in mind. We were really monitoring his actions on the track and he followed our instructions well. Thanks for everyone's support. I sure hope we can keep the crowd turnout up like it was Saturday night. Thanks for those of you that attended, we appreciate all of you.

i realize the 34b pulled off but he had negetive affect on some of cars entire race because they had to slam on the binders to keep from running over him on several occasions. the 360s had a barn burner of a feature hannigan and stewart had a great battle up front, but if this guy 34b bounce knows jack hewitt he needs lessons bad because as much as sprint cars cost somebody should have EXPLAINED things to him because he put drivers and racecars in peril with his lack of seat time or talent whatever it is ,that stuff is kinda accepted in the entry level classes but not in the sprint car ranks <_<
