Well, Dad and I just got back to the hotel from the first night of the Nationals....all I can say is Wow! If you are a sprint car fan, you need to find a way to make it to Knoxville some time. This is absolutely amazing! Picture Speedway, Indiana the week of the Indy 500....thats what Knoxville is like right now. The entire town is completely consumed, its awesome! Atmosphere is everything and this place has it nailed.... As for the racing, its was great. The first night could be summed up as "outlaw-free". Saldana, Dolansky, and K. Kinser were the only ones. Dave Blaney was second quick time but sucked at everything after that. Chad Kemenah had the feature in hand until he ran into lapped traffic. Shane Stewart passed him with ease with about 5 laps to go and won big. ...not sure what they do to that track as far as prep....but they need to give some classes or something. I've never seen a track in this good of condition....especially considering they got 6" of rain the day before....
