Hoosiers yes four barrel no. Hoosiers make cars handle better and lets face it..thats always a good thing. Four barrel is another expense ($500-1000) added to a class that should be looking at cutting costs, not creating them. Hoosiers can be picked up cheap and I would allow street tires for the first year to allow teams to make the transistion.
Lets face the facts if they let hoosier tires in nobody is going to run used tires on the rear of their car if they want to win. everybody thinks picking up used tires saves the drivers money in reality the fast guys r going to buy new tires and just get faster. a new hoosier is $110-$115 and a street tire is roughly $75. how does going to a hoosier save anyone money? hoosiers wear out faster causing u to buy more of them. the guys who run up front will buy new tires and continue to run up front. if running a used hoosier vs running a new one didnt make a difference the mod guys wouldnt be selling them. if they want to police the class and cut cost start inspecting them everyweek like Limaland does

As usual, you're right Barney. The thing is trying to keep everybody on the same page. They hardly ever used to check stock cars at Eldora unless someone was hollering about it. But nobody wants to rat them out because they are illegal too. It's in no way cheap to race any kind of a performance type vehicle. Tires, racing gas, shocks springs, etc. Plus repairs at the track and at home during the week. Fuel to get there. You have to love the sport, because it sure isn't gonna make you a decent living in the support classes. You would have to race 4 nights a week and win all the features. Or have REEEEAAAALLLYYY great sponsors.
Thats not Barney Wilford B. Letting you know.
