UPDATE - Saturday, September 11 (3:26 PM)

RACING TONIGHT Has Been Canceled!!!!!!!

At 2:30 track crews felt that could get the track into shape, but as the track crew began to make final preparations on the track, the daily rain had taken its toll. The track began to come apart and would not be conducive to a quality race surface. We regret this cancellations for our race teams and fans.

tough break with all the rain. montpelier has been a solid place for racing all year long. they even bumped payouts the last few weeks and it must be workin. car counts have been better and racin is always close. props to the promoter for delivering a good place to race...surface has been smooth..shows done at a great time, and adjusts rules to keep it fair and allow more cars to come compete

i know montpelier don't run sprints but I bet some 305/360 races would be worth watchin there. not sayin all the time but when Lima is off or at years end why not try it?

Money. I've been pushing for two years now to have a late model race there, but Harold can't afford to do it. That's why they run a lot of specials with small, cheap touring groups like TQ Midgets, Mini-Sprints, Ford Focus Midgets, crate late models, etc. that have a small purse and low fees. An NRA/SOD race on Saturday would do very well if they paired it with a Friday night race at Lima. I'd love to see them have some late model specials or add them to their weekly program, but the cost to do it seems to be what holds them back. I know it would get more people in the stands if they had a true headliner class every week or brought in a legitimate touring series of sprints or late models. I just don't think Harold wants to take the risk of losing money each week until a weekly class gets built up, or take a big loss with a special that doesn't draw enough fans.
