I would like to invite all the truck racers to Brownstown Speedway for FUNFEST October 8,9,and 10th. In the years past we have had to run with the ministocks but last year they put us in a class of our own. It is a great time and a good way to finish out the season. They changed the schedule a little this year. Friday they are running hot laps and race of champions for a couple classes. Heat races will start Saturday and then the will run the Saturday Night Specials. All of the features are ran Sunday. We will be going down early thursday as they will have 4 wheeler drag races, RC car races and a lawnmower demo derby on Thursday night. It is only $40 for a pit pass for the whole weekend and I think its $20 to camp.

Derrick....are you camping out? If so tent or camper? I thought about coming down but last time I was there I slept in a race trailer and froze our a$$ off. Will they have showers at the track? I think Brownstown is also a fairground like Lawrenceburg.
Still up in the air about going. What all trucks are going? Will you have enough for a heat race even?

We are taking a camper down. I dont know about showers, I have never been to brownstown.
I have no idea who is going. If there arent enough trucks we will probably see if they will throw us in with the mini stocks. I think there were only 6 trucks last year. Kinda sucked there wasnt more but the payout was good so i guess its not all that bad.

I think I might be going but I will be taking my compact and racing it with the hornets. I might even race in the 125 lap enduro on Friday night. We'll see. I'll be roughing it in a tent though and probably freeze my gonads off!!

hey dan dont worry about being cold the 18n bunch takes their own antifreeze just ask mr sawmiller took him 2 days to recover

Dad and I are going to make it there Saturday. I might not make the heat race but someone will run the 1W for us I'm sure. We will have the camper and room for 2 or more if anyone wishes to come. Hey I was just planning on sleeping in a tent or my truck.......would any of you have room for me in a camper? If not that's fine because I was already planning on sleeping in the tent or truck if too cold.
At any rate I plan on meeting up with you all and tossing back a few.

Dan, you can stay with us. Unless you snore more than Pops, then you might need that tent. Also, probably will need you to run the truck in the heat race. I can't make it there until about 3pm Sat. Not sure if Mike is coming to take that dutie for us or not.

As for the snoring...if I'm too loud then I will be more than happy to sleep in my truck for the evening......done it many times before at races!! As close as I am to your dad's house maybe I could slip over there one night this week to see if I could even fit.

hell ya Dan, our numbers are at the top of the page. He usually gets home about 4pm, and is a bit bored at night since he has the truck already to go. Give him a call and won't be a problem. You should fit since Pops does, lol the seat is as far back as possible and the pedals are as far to the floor as they can get, shouldn't have much trouble fitting. Just that head might need a slow leak ,lol.

lol....ok you made me laugh.
That right there is funny I don't care who you are.
I still have quite a bit of work to do on my compact. We've never had a chance to work on it that much yet. He was running with over an 1" of toe in. Well I finally am going to change the front Geometry to give me some more camber and then adjust toe accordingly.
On a serious note....I don't know any racetrack that you can find better people than we have at WRP. I've learned more by stepping back these past few years and watching all of you and how you go about racing. Mistakes happen in life but it's how you overcome them that make you a good person. I truely can only hope to be as good of people as the Twinings, Hicks and Noffsinger families. I respect each and every one of you!

I'm assuming that somehow you have someone else pulling it down seperate and then you and your dad will be pulling the camper.

Dad and Chris Hicks are meeting at Breese rd exit at 230 Fri and heading down. Dad has a Class A motor home and is pulling the trailer with it. They are going to try and make hot laps but will be close on time. Dad is expecting a call from you and you can reach him at 230-2609.
