So the modifieds will show up to race for $3000 to win but a few weeks ago Waynesfield paid $5000 to win and only got 39 cars. And they only had to show up on 1 day and pay to get in once at Waynesfield!
How does that make any sense?

promoter killed the track through his reputation, changing schedule, and dropping classes. word travels fast and teams want to race at a track that is consistent with how they operate. plus as far as the ump nationals go...its eldora. no bigger place to race or win at than big e. i love wrp but until they get a good promoter its gonna stay lookin like a ghost town in the stands and in the pits

Well, folks I look at it like this, Eldora has been holding the Nationals for a long time. Lots of the teams were from a long way off and even Canada was there. So, you can't blame WRP or the promoter. But if you are going to hold a big event, I think advertising it as soon as you get the schedule up. And also have a rain date for it. Teams need to be able to plan for this. JMO

All I can say is thank you Kenny Schrader for the most exciting modified feature finish I've ever seen. Hell of a run.

yes teams need to prepare but the promoter DID kill the track...unless the track gets a proven promoter soon it will continue to go down the drain..look around at the tracks that are successful and mirror their way of doing things like schedule, classes, consistency, advertising

GREAT racing at the Big E this weekend. The track was in wonderful conditon. Just like every other year at the end of the season the track is finally ready to race on. Just to bad the season is over. I would really like to see racing until the end of the month. I know the weather could be a factor but it is also a factor when they start the season so early in the spring. There are usually 2-3 rain outs and rough chunking up track to endure. I know other divisions schedules must be considered. It is just a shame to waste the track in this prime condition at the end of the season. Really enjoyed this past weekend of racing.

I still say that they should have recheduled the "Sprintacular" event??? Was one of the most anticipated shows of the year <_<

You know what? Eldora has been constantly lowering the stock car dates for a while now. Waynesfield should pick up on this. They could run shows with them. Also, the traditional non wingers great. 360 wings, trucks. Compacts, but make them safer and run them last. ADVERTISE!!! And NICE JOB KENNY, although Brian thought he had it, had to be a big disapointment.

and big e is my favorite track but i see tony followin the pattern of earls later years and pushin more big shows and fewer "regular" shows..from a promters standpoint its ideal, but for the guys who have supported the track for years its frustrating

This is so true. But we need to remember this is a BUSINESS. And a business can not survive with out profit.

As far as stocks go lima has the best program for the stock cars. look at how many special shows they have with some good pay days. Cant believe they dont get more cars that what they do then with the king of the 1/4 mile.

No disrespect to the Lima track but if you compare it to Eldora as far as racing, there are way to many differences. You either like the style of racing that is called for at Lima or you don't. And sometimes money is not the only thing that will bring a racer to a track. There are other things to consider. We are Eldora regulars and went to Lima on a couple of the weeks off this year from Eldora. (not for the big shows) Each time we brought home a beat and batterd car and lots of work.
This is one reason we don't go to Lima.

No disrepect to eldora but i know a sprintcar driver who has drove for 30 yrs and he said when you come to lima you had better be up on the wheel , but he said he could eat a sandwich and drive around eldora. As for me i like lima or a 1/4 mile over eldora. I have gone to eldora for yrs but like the short tracks.

I am so glad we live in a free country that allows for choice. I am also sure this debate could go on for a long time. I guess the difference comes from the opinions of a cars owners or the person who does the weekly work on the car, the drivers, and the fans in the stands that come in every week, sit there on their seat enjoying a hot dog or two along with the races, then gets up and leaves. Not considering how much time and money it will take to get that wrecked car back in shape.
I am not directing this at you cause I do not know your involvement in racing.
I am just bringing this to the attention of some fans that have no clue of the money and time it takes to get a car back to the track next week after getting beat and banged around on a 1/4 mile track. This can happen at Eldora too but not as much beat and banging around because of the higher speeds and larger racing surface.

Oh I like to watch racing on a 1/4 mile track but I always cringe when I see the non necessary crashing and wrecking. I have experenced how many hours of hard work and how much money goes into repairing the damage that was not necessary.

Here is to an exciting 2011 season at both tracks.

The thing with E is that you have to hold "that" RPM a lot longer and when you do crash you really do some damage at 100 mph+. So, it is harder on motors, and parts. Anyway I'm trying to say it is in no way cheap either way. Also, it's easier to get on your lid at the Big E. And more of a chance for injury.
