Please do we're wanting to have one but don't want to get into the motor game. If they do we'll have one for sure. What if the truck class was split into two classes? Stock and modified?

How much does it cost to build a competitive engine now. Could this be the reason the count is down? Sounds like someone who matters thinks so.We can't get 20 to show now.

I use to race at a track that did run what you brung races at the end of the yr for stocks. The problem was the next yr thats what was running. After a few yrs it went from pure stocks to sportsman cars and the class was ruined.I LIKE THE IDEA BUT I AGREE CLASS ISNT BIG ENOUGH NOW FOR THAT BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE COOL TO HAVE A RUN WHATCHA BRUNG NIGHT WITH A OPEN MOTOR AT END OF YEAR

maybe it would make people like to watch the trucks more if they were faster and if your looking to give fans something fun to watch it might be the answer because you have the compacts for a starter class . im sure there are pros and cons to it but i like open motor trucks and am for it we are using hoosier race tires it would be fun to have a motor to USE themI use to race at a track that did run what you brung races at the end of the yr for stocks. All I know is that the guys up front sure aren't stock and yes you'll never find racing that someone doesn't out spend the rest. I'm not the compact racer I'm the owner of the cars and I've been in racing for over 30yrs so i know how it works. What i do know is that I've been told by a lot of guys who have trucks and aren't racing or don't race often say the cost of a competitive engine is to high for them. Apparently they have been in the track owners ear as I think thats who started the post. I could be wrong of course. I'd like to have one and there out there for sale. I'm not bitching about whats going on in the class as I'm not involved, yet any way. Pure stock would help drag me in though.compact racer if you can do the assy work and have a good machine shop with a guy that knows what he's doing you can build an engine that can run up front for about $1000- $1500. A little over the cost of a rebuild. I have a brother in law that races karts and spends that on a 5 hp Briggs. If you look at the truck rules there are a lot of things that can be done to these engines and are legal. Of course some are going to push that to the limit and some will go over the limit. That happens in every class including the compacts . Like double checkered said the way to control it is to tech. Another way is to put up the $200 to tear someone down, its in the rules, if there illegal you get your money back and the illegal one gets nothing for the night. Must not have been that big of problem as no one got tore down this year although I did hear bitching. The thing is there are rules but alot of guys brought 100,000 mile motors and thought they could run with the front runners ( not going to happen) also alot of the guys didn't handlel very well and that means more than a big motor. Svt you said what if they run a stock and modified class, they do their all stock motors but some modify them within the rules.

that would be my question, too....
What is the PRECISE definition of STOCK, and what is the PRECISE definition of modified?
Depends on wether you get it out of the garage or not and on the track. Just kidding randy

i would hope the modified meant 4 bangers but racing parts allowed such as heads or sd4s ,boat motors anything that would crank the hp up a 100 or so then people would stay in the stands to watch instead of leave ,these things still have to handle but i feel it could be a intresting ingredient for good racing and i really want to say thank you to svt for asking our opinionsthat would be my question, too....
