Landon, did the deal go through with the 18 car?
Everything is still up in the air... and the main reason it for this is WMP not having a schedule or purse structure out for there teams.... There have been rumors of a purse cut and if thats the case we will have to look at other options for Saturday nights! but like all teams these days any local sponsorship would really help Jamie and Garry get the 18 to the race track : ) We can only hope Greg pays the same as last year so we can come put on a show!!!

Once the schedule and purse structure comes out, if you are dissatisfied, then it's time to complain......

Folks, let's keep the rumors, and gossip in check.
Once the schedule and purse structure comes out, if you are dissatisfied, then it's time to complain......
Hes just saying what he has heard and I thank him for that... here we are a couple months before the season and no one seems to know whats going on... I have heard alot of rumors as well!
If Dr. Speedy's info has any truth i will never walk thru the gates... There no reason the place shouldnt pay what they did last year....I dont even care about a schedule untill they state there purse and they dont need to wait any longer to do that!

If its 500 to win sprints your gonna have alot of complaints for sure.
Worse than complaints, you won't have any sprint cars............
Landon, I hear what you are saying, and I agree. I'm just trying to keep from feeding the WRP bashers with ammunition!
Greg, it is actually time for a schedule. The best way to end speculation, is to provide facts.
Car owners and drivers need to know, what the purse structure is, and how many races they are going to be able to run with their car, so they can get their sponsors lined up (actually they should have already done that)
For WRP to be taken seriously in the racing community, the management needs to be -sharp-, and on the spot with info.

Greg and I have a meeting scheduled tomorrow, where we will be getting the schedule and other info ready for immediate release. We should have some news for everyone by Monday. Thank you for your patience.
Gerry
If purse structure is still up there air you may want to let it be known that myself, Tmez, Holt, Westfall, Moffet, and others would like to race at WMP but if the purse is lowered we will more than likely all be heading west on saturdays... Thanks for the info Gerry please let us all know what WMP has to offer next year when you know!

I spoke to Matt Westfall and Steve Irwin at Ft. Wayne, and will be passing on their take on WRP, and I will ensure that Greg is aware of your concerns as well.
My personal opinion on the purse is this: I understand that it is expensive for you guys and gals to race, but remember that the last promoter lost a lot of money trying to make a go of WRP, and he is a hall of fame promoter. Greg Shobe is a farmer who is trying to run his racetrack while working his farm and working a full time job as well. He is doing it out of his own pocket with nowhere near the promoting experience that most have. Whatever decision he makes on the purse structure is not designed to be a slap in the face to anyone, but is designed to allow him to continue to operate within his means and continue to give the drivers and teams a place to race, and the fans a place to enjoy our sport.
With that said, please know that each and everyone of us that will be a part of WRP in 2011 and beyond will be doing everything in our power to help the Shobes make this a great facility for years to come.

Hey Landon, I didn't say anything about the purse, that was 'need for speed" LOL

You need your eyes checked Doc.............
Landon is the first one to mention the purse structure, in post #4 of this thread.
Then patrickw commented on the winners share of the purse in post #5.
I didn't even make a post in this thread until post #6.

Tami and I will be operating the track in 2011. We will continue to run the same classes as 2010. No classes will be discontinued. If you have a question call 419 568 2893 (home.) 419 568 3201 (track). Please do not assume and spread false accusations. call me and I will return your call. Thank you for your patonage. Greg Shobe
I know all you racers want to know for your sake and your sponsors sake the details, but until it comes from either Greg Shobe or a designated PR representative for the track then it's not fact. It takes a little time for all the promoters to evaluate one anothers schedules and not cause conflicts. We have seen Millstream, Oakshade and only the big dates for Lima and Eldora thus far. Granted we may not need to worry about what Gas City and Montpelier are scheduling.
I think today's promoters need to be conscious of one another's events and rules. Different rules and different sanctioning bodies have taken away from the small tracks and to survive we need to make sure that we are taking that into consideration.
I'm sure Gerry or Greg will have your info to you soon, Gerry should be able to give you some sort of info after meeting with Greg.
I look forward to seeing all of you again this season and I'm excited for our racing program to begin soon.
