There are 2 accomplished truck drivers that are moving up into the modified class. But I think its a rumor Mr Hicks is one of them. (Moving up that is. He is quite the accomplished truck driver). Jeremy

I know of a few former truck guys that are stepping into mods. A few posts within the last two weeks gives a few away lol. Seems like more and more truck guys are moving to mods.

Twinnings bought the 52 car. Derrick Noffsinger will be in Andy Biblers last years car as he got a new Sherman car. And Tom Stauffer will racing this year after a rough start last year with engine problems. Chris Hicks might push truck with his new Dune Buggy. But I'm not so sure he's not hiding something, saw some new mod wheels in the picture of the dune buggy.

Wow, that's funny right there. I don't care who you are! Chris pushin in his buggy, definately worth the $$. Yes, Weasel Racing was in the right place and time to get the 52. The trucks will still be a runnin for us, but Gabe is givin it a run at Limaland on Friday nights and I am wreckin it at Waynesfield on Sat. nights. Probably asking for trouble. Way too much to focus on, but can't shake the bug you know.

Hey Gibbs, I know your comment was off the cuff but I think you should look at the bigger picture. Sure these guys will have a learning curve but no different that a guy or gal that is starting out in mods from the start. Are they gonna make mistakes....sure! Are they wreckless driver.....not at all! The guys that are making the move are all good people #1 and #2 they don't have the funds to spill too much into reapirs so they don't want to wreck any more than the next guy. Matt Twining has already turned some laps in a mod at WRP (in race format I might add) and he held his own. I think these guys have plenty of common sense that will be just fine. I personally wish them the best this season!!!

Yeah it will be a big step but Derrick has raced Karts and trucks for the past 16 years. I think he'll have the respect for the other drivers not to drive over his capabilities. It will take some seat time for sure. I don't think these drivers think they are going out and be front of the pack cars the first year because if they do, they will be very disappointed.

Thanks Dan and Don. Everyone knows our car is up to the task, but the drivers are out in left field. We definately have 1 goal for the mod this season, Finish. period. Can't learn much in the pits, No race can be won in turn 1, but every race can be lost there. For me, running good and maybe winning is fun, but I have just as much fun trying to figure out how to get there. Don, When I make my mistakes this season I'll make sure Derrick isn't apart of my learning curve as he was in the trucks,LOL

Matt trust me, I have seen you race trucks and you are a good driver who respects other drivers as well as gabe. I have raced stockcars,4 cylinder trucks,V-8 trucks and mods and I learned your equipment is 60% and driver is 35% and 5% luck. You guys will have no problem racing with the others. I got to go up and do the petty driving school, and after a couple of laps you get use to the speed your turning and its like driving 55 on the highway. I hope to race and compete with you guys later in the year. I will have a guy driving my mod till my neck heals, had a disc taken out and 2 vertibra's fused with 2 titainium plates. Should be healed complete in about 6 to 8 months. Hope to see all you guys out there this year.

sssshhhh I think titanium is illegal in a mod. Hope to see you at and on the track this season. I think I'm the one to watch out for, I owe my old brother a payback from when he drove me truck. He killed my favorite rim. Should be a crazy fun year.

Jealous? The truck guys are some of the cleanest and most respectful guys out on the track. I'm sure that the ones moving up will do just fine. Look at the guys that had never raced anything before a mod, and jumped right into them and had success. Instead of stereotyping the truck class, maybe look at their capabilities. They cannot gain experience and recognition if they dont go out and put the effort in. Besides, theres guys that have been running modifieds for years and still struggle.

Good luck to all mod drivers this year! I think that the former truck guys turned mod drivers will have great success within the next few years.

no,not jealous @all,just saying, they are gonna have a big ass smile on their faces when they stand on the gas, probably should of said it that way in my first post.yes the car will probably need repaired sometime thru the season, wether it is their doing or someone elses doing.i have raced a truck @ waynesfield and had a blast, and that is good racing for the dollar amount you have in one.i just hope they have the funds to run the mods long enough to get past the learning curve of 3 yrs. good luck too everyone racing this year.i know first hand on what it takes to run a racing deal, #1 hard work #2 money #3 luck, and i hope everyone has plenty of that.

The trucks are a starter class, correct??? So after you race in a starter class what comes next? I think that you move up to something that is more challenging, correct? Just because someone starts in a truck doesn't mean they can't drive a mod. Everyone starts somewhere. Best of luck to all the new mod drivers. It's good to have new blood in the mod class.

As I semi-understand both divisions, this is completely accurate.

However, we need some young= bucks in the truck division, to start seriously backfilling.

(part of the very first 10-12 'tuff trucks')
