Just to let our racing friends know that Jessica's older sister, Kelli, was hurt in an auto accident Tues. evening. She was transferred to Grant Hospital in Columbus. She is stable, but has multiple injuries. Updates are being posted on facebook. Good luck to all as the racing season begins. Sandi

any news?

Just got home from the hospital (Grant in Columbus). She has been battling ARDS--Adult Resp. Distress Syndrome, so she has been sedated and paralyzed with medication. Finally yesterday she seemed to turn the corner and start getting a bit better. Today they did a bronchoscopy and then took the breathing tube out and put in a trach instead. She is still on the ventilator. The two surg. on the legs seemed to have gone well. Laceration on her chin already has the stitches removed. Have not even scheduled the surg for all the fractures to her face......she is still considered too unstable for that. Will have a long, long recovery period. No idea when she will be transferred back up this way. In the mean time, we are all taking turns being with her. That way no one gets worn completely out. Keep praying, she's still one very ill girl. They turned off the paralyzing drug today, and when DJ walked in the room and said, "Hi Kelli!" , she opened her eyes right away. It made us laugh! Later on, though, DJ wondered if she might have thought it was her Dad, since DJ's voice at times sounds like Scott.
