Just passing this along from a post on pitgate.
Millstream Not Closed
Per the Courier in today(saturday's) paper
Area Racing: Racing may return to Millstream
Will racing return to Millstream Speedway before the end of the 2011 season?
Track owner Greg Roe says yes.
"This track isn't closed," Roe said Friday. "The only thing different is Dean Miracle is not the promoter."
Roe said Miracle informed him last Wednesday that he was done as promoter of the 3/8-mile facility, which is located at the corner of Liberty Township roads 95 and 136 four miles west of Findlay.
Miracle then explained his situation via the track's website at millstreamspeedway.com, stating Millstream had been turned back to the Roes, citing low car counts and few spectators as the reason for stepping aside.
His decision came three days after a regular-season program on Sunday, July 3 was called off when three banks of lights along the front straightaway went dark.
"I put my trust in some people over the last couple of years and things didn't work out," Roe said.
"It just kills Mary Beth (his wife) and I to see things not turn out right.
"Fans and racers know this a great place. We need to get back to where we were a couple of years ago, get some things put back together, including the racing surface.
"I am going to run the track myself. This is not what I planned to do, but I can't leave it sit (idle) like this."
Over the two previous seasons, when a limited number of races were held, the Roes managed the "front side" of the track, including ticket sales and the concession stand.
"We have never worked the pit side, never been the race directors," Roe said. "I need to line up some people to help before we think about race dates."
Miracle leased the facility early in the spring with plans of promoting 13 races. Only two events were held and rain washed out four others, including the Ohio Sprint Speedweek program.
"I really don't know what the shows will feature," Roe said. "There will be nothing big name, just a basic show.
Roe gave no timetable as to when the next event will be held.
"As soon as we put things together we will announced what races and classes we are going to run."
He hinted, though, that could be in August

If Mr. Roe was that damn dedicated to keeping the track open, it seems he would have made an effort 5 YEARS AGO. Fool me once Mr. Roe, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. As long as ownership of the track is in the Roe's hands, I simply will not entertain the idea of Millstream ever being open permenantly. Best of luck with your go-kart track, new concessions and bathroom "coming soon". I have MANY fond memories of Sunday evenings at the track, and I'll just hold on to those. What's happening now to the place is simply a joke.

i agree its taken wayyyy too long for him to decide to get involved but if he lets it sit he is gonna hear everybody whine...and if he tries to hold some races they will whine. i hear people still complain about lima too...really?! nice facilities, best safety team, they actually inspect cars, best purse, best fan support, yet limaland still gets crushed by the keyboard cowboys. if mr roe runs some races i will go. lets not forget the main reason dean had to fold was because so many of the fans and drivers that "love" millstream didn't support it.
