Okay, what happened last weekend? A red flag went up, a couple cars went off, and the #17 car came back on the track, but wasn't allowed to run. I've been a sprint fan for quite a while and so I checked out the NRA rules. They state that a car can come back into the race as long as a full lap hasn't been run. I was there, a full lap didn't happen. As all you racers know, a full lap doesn't happen unless the last place car makes it across the finish line. Try as they did, a full lap didn't happen, so why not let the #17 run? And before all you haters get fired up, I'm just saying #17 as an example. What if it was the #6, #20, #7, or any other car that you like? This can happen to any car, if it isn't applied fairly. So why did the flagman say he couldn't run?

I think it is considered a lap once the leader passes the flagstand. I wasn't there cause I had to work. I am really just taking a guess as to what might have happened.

I know you are proably just saying why didnt the flagman let him race.It was proably a call by a official. But dont they keep the gate closed to the track why was he let back on the track then. Ive never been down by the gate during a race but isnt it closed and has to be opened by a track worker?

An official opened the gate and let him back on because there had not been anymore laps completed, I watched him open the gate signal for them to push horstman onto the track. The problem prolly lies where a lot of problems have been lately and thats in the flag stand. The flag man cant see so what makes us all think he can actually count also?

Yep, the gate has to be opened by a worker, and he isn't going to open it unless he knows it's okay. So what happened?

Okay, I may be mistaken about that. You're probably right. But, I'm not the only one that thinks a full lap wasn't made. And I'm not attacking the flagman. There are a lot of things going on, and it can be hard to keep it all straight, but there are also a lot of people watching too, scorers, officials, etc. It just seems lately that the rules aren't being applied evenly across the board. If the points leader tries to come back on, seems like he gets to. Let's just be fair to all and keep some dignity and respect going. It's good for the fans, racers, and the sport.

Blair was running like 4th when this happened and if the flagman would have thrown the yellow when he should have the leader would not have been at the flagstand but the flagman waited to see if Foos was going to continue to run over blair even tho blair was already stopped but oh well its over now and we can all chalk it up to another bone head move made by the bone head staff that runs Limaland now.
