Loved the 4 wide parade lap!! Is that going to become standard procedure?
The non wing features are outstanding.
Matt had to race hard just to get clear of the other cars, and then run down Justin....and he 'almost' got the job done. Dallas Hewitt running 4th this week, and 5th last week with a 360. Guys runnin -everywhere- on the track. What a show!!
I don't think you should do it every week with the sprint cars, because then it loses it's luster. I do think it would be cool to do it each week with a different division, making them a "spotlight" division.
It took Matt 15 laps to get to Justin even through traffic. Grant did an awesome job working through lappers. It seemed like Matt kept catching guys at the wrong time, causing him to lose momentum. I really expected Matt to get another shot on the last lap, but Grant just wasn't to be denied

On Page 4 you can see some photos of the 4 wide parade lap. It was sorta last minute But we were able to get some shots of it. We also have some short video of it from our onboard camera that we had mounted on the sprint cars (rear view look). I know this sounds crazy, but if I knew the drivers wouldn’t run me over lol, I would have loved to stand in the middle of the track facing them coming out of turn 4 at the flag stand and shot video/pictures of them coming right by me. That way you could get the full effect of how awesome the 4 wide salute is.. (I know, I know, I’m crazy to want to stand out there but boy, would those shots be priceless )

Do like the photog person does at Eldora, ride in the back of a pace truck.
Oh I would have since we have done that numerous times this year but I think the 4 wide was a last minute call so we didn't have time to get me up into a push truck.. Next time, If they have it planned or know they will be doing it, we can get in the back of Sizemore’s push truck and get the on track photo.. We are up to doing anything (well in reason) lol to bring a different angle or view from the action at WRP.

Well this is something that Gerry Keysor has been asking about all season and it was initially his idea but unfortunatley due to weather patterns we have had to speed shows up to beat weather. I made a last second call to do it finally this past weekend and mand did the driver ever produce a awesome looking parade lap. That is one awesome display to see those powerful machines 4 wide. Jokingly our awesome flagger (Jeremy) told me over the radio....."let's start them 4 wide". I got a chuckle out of that.
It's been a great year filled with ups and downs but overall we have the best group of racers and fans around. We hope to expand on that next season and keep providing the best racing value for your dollar around.
I have never seen a sprint car race started 4 wide, but I have seen them start 3 wide
The Little 500 starts 33 sprint cars, in 11 rows of 3, on a 1/4 mile...and they run 500 laps, with 2 pit stops on the Figure 8 'X' inside the track. The whole race is run pretty much 2 wide.
1 lap to go
1 to go, coming through 1&2
Green Flag!
From this vantage point, the Methanol fumes burn your eyes, nose and throat for a few laps, until the cars spread out a little bit.
