So UNOH Sponsors the All Stars full time, but has only one race at their facility all season???? To me that does NOT look good? If your going to promote a series, then that series needs to be playing in your backyard, frequently???? It makes it appear that they (the all stars) are not worthy of the facility, or the tracks fanbase, but we are suppose to support them elsewhere? From a business standpoint, it seems to me that this is all about the school and not the race fans? I am certainly entitled to my opinion, as you are?

Remember, unoh and limaland are two seperate businesses. It's not the limaland allstars. It's the unoh allstars. So you are correct, it is to promote the school. I have nothing against limalands schedule. Sure if I'm a fan of class "x" I would want to see more of them at a track that is 10 minutes from my home. But limaland doesn't have any problem drawing fans so I really can't see why they would change what seems to be working. I feel we as racefans are very lucky to live where we do. There are plenty of tracks in the area to satisfy just about every type of racing we may enjoy. It just may not be at your favorite facility. But support racing where you can, while you can.

I have nothing against the facility? The fans have been asking for more Winged 410 races there now for years, as well as some non-wing shows. They are just asking for a wider range of variety, so why not give it to them??? Since they are now the title sponsor of the All Stars you would think that this is a good opportunity to please that request? Yes I can go to other tracks for an array of 410 shows Winged or not, but when Lima hosts the 410's it is some of the Best racing all season anywhere, just not enough of it. Makes the fan crave more. Most tracks listen to their fans, but this is not one of them? I realize that their fan base is solid, but why not give them what they are asking for in return for their loyalty? That is the point that I was trying to make. Yes you are right they are two separate businesses, why not take advantage of having that strong hold and deliver, it makes good business sense. JMO

Wow man couldn't agree more. Been going to limaland forever i just wish they would change the schedule up a lil bit.... i have been preaching about bringing more 410's and non wings for awhile. remember the buckeye nationals. race limaland friday then eldora saturday... that was always a awesome show. bring it back. all stars atleast one more show other then speedweek. heck i think limaland could even do a two day show friday and saturday with a couple classes along with it... domething different jmo... i love limaland but they can up it for sure by now.....

You just sorta proved my point where you said "I've been going to limaland forever". I don't dispute that just about every fan wished that their favorite track ran their favorite class every week for 20,000 to win. But racechaser mentioned that the few races they do have for the 410's (the class you'd like to see more), keeps you wanting more. Keeps you talking about how great the last one was. Makes you anxious to see the next one. But maybe (just my opinion) running them more often will take the greatness out of the races that are run. Until we run our own racetracks there is little we can do to change it. I have no doubt that you don't stand alone wanting more 410 shows, but I just don't see why any track would change what is working.

It would be neat to see more 410 shows at lima, but where would the cars come from, you would be competing with attica on friday night and there are not any 410 sprint cars in lima anymore. I think thats why the special shows bring in so many fans. Non wing cars suck. their to slow, its like watching paint dry.

I dont think he is saying that they should run them every week just a couple more shows a year. The 410 racing is great there and it does leave you wanting more but why should we have to wait 52 weeks to see it again? If limaland brought in the 410s on a night that Attica was not running and ran those 410s with the 360s everyone would come. If they ran the 410s 5 times a year it would still leave everyone wanting more and wanting to come back for them whenever they are on the schedule. It just does not make sense that they never change their schedule. Its like Bob sits back and and just does not want to mess with it so he just brings up last years schedule and changes the dates and then post it on the website, after everyone elses is already posted. He changes nothing and still is the last one to post his schedule every year. #15Posted 12 February 2012 - 12:48 PM
How can you say "everyone" would come? Some people wouldn't. Me being one of them. Although I love all forms of racing, I don't make it a point to go see winged sprint cars. Absolutely no dig on those that do. But there are others who share how I feel too. I know we can continue to plead with eachother or with those that make the schedule. I feel that until the track sees a problem with bringing in fans there will be no change.

#16Posted 12 February 2012 - 06:25 PM Jeremy, if you don't make it a point to go see winged sprint cars, then whats the loss? switch the 360(WINGED) sprints with the 410(WINGED) sprints, and keep stocks and mods that night, and bam, you're not out anything. I'd like to see more variety, because Limaland has tons of potential to be on the level that Eldora is. Eldora does a great job with bringing in special big races and classes. Look at their fanbase...there are many people from out of state that go just to watch. #17Posted 12 February 2012 - 06:46 PM
Saying "everyone" is a figure of speech. And this is sprint car country so most people would show up sorry the whole population of Ohio is not going to show up at one track my bad. Limalands main series is WINGED sprint cars, so having more WINGED 410 sprint car races would not hurt that track. Thats all were saying. And yea theres no problem with them running the 360s as much as they do and their fans are still going to show up because its great racing, but if you have the chance to enhance the experience and make your fans that much more happy why not do it? #18Posted 12 February 2012 - 07:34 PM
Austin,
I never said I was out anything. Was just stating I'm not part of the "everyone" that was mentioned before. So now I'm not out, but what about the 360 class you chose to drop? What about their drivers and familys and fans? Any other class you replace with a different one will feel shorted.
I'm on your side really. I too wish there were other options. (I like lates and wingless for those keeping score). But I understand that LMP may not change the schedule because of the few people on this forum. Although WE may think WE share the majory opinion of EVERYONE that attends LMP on any given night, that simply isn't true.
My orginal post was only to say that I can understand how UNOH can sponsor the Allstars and that will have no effect on limalnds schedule. It has slowly gone off into a tangent as to why Lima should run more 410's.
I guess if you are really passionate about wanting more 410's (or whatever class), get a larger group of people to add to your "everyone" to support your cause. Get organized, and don't give up trying. Maybe they will finally listen.

Sure Eldora brings in big races but they have also dropped a lot of the regular sat night shows. They are just about gone. people like a regular sat night program thats what WRP is doing along with Lima on friday nights. Not knocking Eldora but people like to see their locals running. Limas does have a lot a big shows for their regulars, and that i thank them. Edited by skip, 12 February 2012 - 10:12 PM.

Just think something a little different.. heck keep the same classes if you want maybe a two day show at the end of the year for the King of the Quarter Mile. friday and saturday since the rain date is saturday for that event just make it a two day show and Bring down the SOD, increase the Purse and go out with a BANG! Already Checked and Waynesfield doesn't run that weekend so there we go. could try and slid the non-wings from waynesfield in that weekend at limaland to make it big but that may be to much to ask for lol.. Thats a little something I had in mind. An the USAC non wings that ran during Buckeye Nationals hauled ass around that track. remember Haud running and jack Hewitt right up against the wall getting it. Allstars have September 29th date TBA and the week before they run fremont and the week they end at eldora.. i know its late in the year but if them two tracks are still running it wodnt hurt if they did to... one saturday wodnt hurt...
