Four Oaks,NC - The COUNTDOWN is on to the 2012 Racing season to fire up for the FASTRAK Racing Series. However just as the 54th Edition of "The Great American Race" the Daytona 500 for NASCAR's Top level stars had to be POSTPONED which is the 1st event of 36 races on their grueling NASCAR Spint Cup Series schedule. The same thing happened for the "Premier Pro Late Model Series in the Country" one weekend ago as the Inaugural FASTRAK Georgia Winternationals set to launch Feb 17-19 was POSTPONED also due to weather putting construction efforts late eventually behind and forcing a tough decision 10 days to the race event. However as the month of February ends and March rushes quickly ahead so is the anticipation of the Toccoa,GA Speedway should I say the NEW Toccoa Speedway to host a first thats never been for the FASTRAK Universe that it simply one word the - WINTERNATIONALS!! "It's the first but won't be last of this idea to come to life." said Stan Lester Founder of the 9th consecutive Touring Series for Pro Late Models on Dirt. We are less than 10 days away now to history being made at Toccoa,GA. We'll discuss that with two top stars on the tour (a Vetrean racer) and a (Young Gun) whos making a name for himself up the ranks also and the man with City Chevrolet Chris Knight who has a very very special announcement to make on the show as they join Wesley Outland "The Voice of FASTRAK" for another edition of FASTRAK Weekly LIVE Presented by FK Rod Ends at 7pm est on the FASTRAK Radio Network!!
They call him the "Little Headknocker" he resides in Union,SC and drives the #88 Barry Wright chassis its Trent Ivey. He's an up and coming star to the FASTRAK Racing Series world. However the family name is not unknown in the sport of the dirt track racing ferternity his father nicknamed the "Headknocker" Petey Ivey has had a great background in running Crate Late Models - Steel Head Late Models and even the Super Late Models. Trent started out his career running in the Mini Stocks - Stock 4 cylinder class at the "Place Your Mamma Warned You About!!" Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney,SC when he was young and now up and drives with the "Premier Pro Late Model Series in the Country". He's won a few Heat races or Consis last year but never broke through to victory lane. Could this year be the season he picks up his first career FASTRAK Touring Series victory we'll get his thoughts and his plans with the FASTRAK Tour when he speaks with Wesley on the show.
The driver of the #29 Lazer 2 Chassis from Rutherfordton,NC is Steve Hendren and he comes from a history of racing heritage similiar to Ivey as well. His Dad the late Bill Hendren was a a very big influential leader in the world of motorsports in these parts and was a very big influence in getting the FASTRAK Racing Series started with his ideas to help Stan make this program sucessful now in its 9th season. Bill Hendren passed away in early last year and a race was held in September at Cleveland County Speedway and Motorsports Complex in Lawndale,NC in his honor "The Bill Hendren Memorial" a FASTRAK Southeast/Mideast Touring Series race which raised over a $40,000 purse money and contingencies. What made the event so sweeter was the race was won when it was said and done Bill Hendren was looking down above the heavens seeing his son hoist the trophy and the check as the winner of his dads event but didn't even wanna keep the purse money that he won. He took his earnings and gave them to charity. I really believe on that day GOD was a race fan and was shining down and blessing everyone who was involed with that historic event which will be back in 2012 at CCS and is now a 2 day event that started off as one. We'll talk to Steve Hendren about that event after the new season dawns and what his plans are competeing in 2012 as he has announced he's gunning for the championship in 2012!!
Our final guest will be one of the biggest back bones that have been around since the inception of the FASTRAK Racing Series. Mr. Chris Knight from City Chevrolet in Charlotte,NC!!
